Baton Rouge: LSU 26-10-1

College Station: A&M 11-2-1

Neutral: LSU 4-3-1

above does not include 2 wins at A&M and 2 wins at LSU vacated by LSU.

I really don't care who else our permanents are as long as we keep this one.

I'd be good with it. Easy drive too, for the traveling fans.

You guys are the only ones that drink as much as us, what’s why I enjoy the rivalry.

I have nothing against A&M and would like them as a permanent if more than three fixed opponents were allowed. But with a limit of three you can't have them before Florida. Alabama, or Ole Miss. MSU disappearing as an annual opponent is also a travesty. That's well over 100 games of tradition being ignored

Yeah, and single offensive lineman wasn't gonna swing any of those games the other way.

Meh, I don't miss Mississippi State. Yeah, we played them every year, but they're just another team. Same with Arkansas.

It's probably going to be Ole Miss and Texas A&M, for sure. The third one is probably among Alabama, Florida and Oklahoma. I'd prefer to keep Bama.

Dude… A&M does not compete with LSU on alcohol consumption. They drink when they are tall enough to see over the bar. Give that to ‘em.

Edit - they also got the most sophisticated tailgate cooking setups I’ve ever seen. And most of those folks don’t even have tickets to the game…!!!

I don't expect the SEC office to do this, but there is an option to have 2 teams in a permanent slot.

For example.

Perm 1 for Thanksgiving
LSU vs Arkansas

Perm 2
LSU vs Florida/Texas A&M
Play both teams 3x in 4 years

Perm 3
LSU vs Ole Miss/Miss State
Play both teams 3x in 4 years

If it makes sense for anyone to do this, it would be LSU, who has a ton of 2nd, 3rd, 4th rivalries.. Yeah, it sucks in years where you don't play 1 of those teams, but maybe it's better playing 3/4 instead of 2/4. Only you guys can answer that question..

One thing I just thought about while I was typing that.. the SEC apparently is requiring 1 extra P4 game each year.. Could LSU schedule a team like Miss State in years where they aren't on the schedule? Would that qualify? That could be a really interesting idea to make some of these problems disappear.

If you staggered it, you could pick up that 10th game and end up with 5 perm opponents each year.

LSU Example Schedule

P1: Arkansas
P2: Florida
P3: Texas A&M

G4: Alabama or Georgia
G5: Texas or Oklahoma
G6: Tennessee or Auburn
G7: Missouri or Vanderbilt
G8: So Carolina or Kentucky
G9: Miss State or Ole Miss

G10: Ole Miss or Miss State (OOC)

That's 5 Perm's and maybe meeting the extra game requirements..

I believe this solution could also solve the Home/Away balancing issue if done correctly. You also wouldn't have to worry about another team canceling at the last minute and having to scramble to find a replacement. It would also set precedent for the important games you want to play if we ever do go to 20 teams and have a 5/5/5 schedule.

I would be surprised and disappointed if Texas A&M is not a permanent for LSU.

I would like to see LSU get....

Ole Miss
Texas A&M
Arkansas or Florida.

No Oklahoma, please. That doesn't make sense for either team, imo.

My first aggy game in the 90s I saw dudes with one six pack a piece to tailgate with, that was the standard. The frat shot luges aren't a tradition, they're relatively new.

I would prefer Oklahoma. Oklahoma has won natties and I think it would be a great rivalry. Aggy hasn't done anything.

I want:
Bama
Auburn
Florida

Can't leave all your cooking gear outside while you're in the stadium.
