Would you consider South Carolina a superior football program?

All time we have a winning record vs them and it seems historically we are on par or above South Carolina, yet in the past few years we’ve lost many players to the portal to South Carolina and they seem to invest more in the modern era. What’s the difference that seems to make them better other than they simply care more

they had a NC winning coach, we had Nutt... But Nutt beat the ole ball coach more often than he should.
They have a little larger stadium, and larger fan support.

They have NIL which we poo pooed... They have a moron for AD, and well... so do we? lol

I believe we would still be viewed as about the same overall as USCE...

Anyone keeping up with what Rhett is doing at SMU? and finebaum's saying things about Rhett trying to harm Pittman's coaching at Arkansas...

Hmmm

I largely agree we’re about equal but they seem to have a higher view of themselves than we do. Maybe they’re just still delusional and we see reality but they truly believe they can compete in football and most of our fan base has allowed our own faculty to basically sell us “we just can’t compete, we’ve gotta be the Washington generals of the sec and take it” and as a fan base we have. When what we should’ve done is shite canned cashachek the day after he refused to fire Pittman for going 4-8.

I think they've passed us at this point.

We're both perennial mid-lower tier in the SEC. They seem to be slightly trending up while we're neutral or slightly trending down.

Only reason Id give them the edge is because they seem to have more optimism right now, while we're in a wait and see year with a lame duck coach.

For the most part theres really no difference in 7 programs that haven’t won a sec title. OU is probably a little above the pack and vandy is a little below. Otherwise we’re all fighting for scraps.

Ole miss has gone all in for football but they’re still not going to win anything. Best the bottom 7 can hope for is an at large playoff bid and an early exit.

The fans were ready to fire Beamer after his 5-7 season in 2023. I guess we are a lot alike.

what a crock of shite they won the baseball natty a couple years ago. In fact. It appears the real jackass is Arkansas for investing so much in college baseball when at the end it’s such a crap shoot. Ole miss has beard in basketball as well who has them rolling. All this is extreme copium by our fan base because ole miss actually gives a frick about athletics and they’re rolling right now. Same as mizzou same as South Carolina. Wake the frick up and demand Hunter gtfo of Arkansas. He’s fricking cratered us even deeper than the depths Jeff long brought us down too. Invest in football because it’s the only thing that’s demands money. Everyone else in the sec has shown us you can still easily compete in basketball and baseball while still keeping football a priority money wise. Or maybe we really are the brokest poorest motherfrickers in the conference idk.

Well yeah, record year for revenue.

People are paying to watch underachievements every month of the year outside of March.

South Carolina and Mizzou are rolling????

USCe is absolutely awful in basketball and baseball and middling in football. They're one of the worst overall athletic programs in the conference and Mizzou is worse than that. The frick?

shhh, he's melting for his own self made sweltering sauna. Dude goes on a roll way too often.

Even Ole Miss, for all of their glory and $$$$ spent has sucked. Who exactly has Kiff beaten? That record, when compared to whom they have beaten, isn't much man.

Well South Carolina was on the verge of a playoff berth last year and ole miss and Missouri have both won major bowl games and had double digit win seasons since Pittman has been here. Sorry the rest of that was uncalled for.

I know it’s not a good excuse but there is some validity to Missouri and Ole Miss having much easier schedules than us every year. Probably 1-2 wins worth which is pretty significant for perception, but in the grand scheme the difference between 6 or 8 wins doesn’t really matter.

Missouri and South Carolina are at the very bottom for athletic programs. Hell Mizzou just went 0-18 in hoops and USCe 2-16 last year. Both are terrible baseball programs, Mizzou basically doesn't have one and USCe is one of the worst in the conference now that it's been ran into the ground for ages.

Should have just said football not athletics. Granted neither are ever winning anything in football either but I guess having a pulse counts for something.

well shite if the only thing that matters is winning a national championship we aren’t any better then we’ve got a grand total of 2 titles in men’s football, baseball and basketball and the last one was over 30 years ago. So let’s not use the “Missouri and South Carolina really don’t win shite” argument because it’s just cope my man. Would you have said that about Bobby P’s teams in 2010/2011? They didn’t win the natty does that mean they didn’t win shite? Also, South Carolina has made a final 4 since we have, their girls hoops teams have been way better than ours, and I would 1000% trade their baseball history for ours. Even if that includes the last 5 years.

Nah I'm a realist, none of those teams including Ark are ever winning a natty in football. I would rather spend on programs that can win one every year like hoops and baseball. Going 10-2 or 9-3 to some mediocre bowl game with half the players sitting out or transferring in 2025 is shite. Missouri's dream season last year was the Music City Bowl and zero top 25 wins for God's sake. Petrino's best team would have made the playoffs last year, maybe even won a round 1 game so those are not the same in the era of playoffs or nothing and that is as good as you're going to get for Mizzou/Ark/USCe.

This is cope. South Carolina just went 2-16 in basketball and are currently the worst program in the conference. Their baseball program hasn't been to Omaha since 2011, coming up on 15 years and it too is now at the bottom of the conference. Might as well go back to 1994 if you're going back that far and say we have a natty and they don't and never will.

I would trade all of the trips to Omaha we’ve had the last 10 years for that 2010 football team to be on the field next year. It doesn’t impress me to lose in the college World Series anymore than winning the sugar bowl does for you. I guess I just care about football the way you do basketball and baseball. Maybe it’s because I’ve lived around lsu and Texas fans too long and I’m just pissed they get to shite talk every year. Because they’re better in football and better in baseball. The only thing we have over them is basketball which is great! But we still aren’t elite in that. I guess I’d rather be a top 16 football team than basketball but I understand that’s just a personal preference.
