North Carolina to the SEC?

Just read and article talking about NC wants to join the sec. Anybody have any news on that? I could only read so much for free.

I’ve been saying if we expand to 20 which I think we will. Take NC and Kansas for basketball. West Virginia for market. Possibly add one of FSU/Okie state/Georgia Tech/Clemson to balance out some of those out of conference rivalry teams. Don’t take all weigh which ever one brings the most value to the conference.

I wouldn’t mind if we went to 20 adding NC,FSU,GT, and Clemson. I’ve been expecting the ACC to pull a pac 12 type move for a while now. Just don’t see them surviving the way they are now.

I don’t want to stack to many east coast teams because I don’t want Auburn and bama in the “west” of the conference. Just from travel reasons. I have no interest in 4 away football games being Mizzou, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas

We want schools we like the fanbase. I think having pompous fanbases make college sports what it is.

I believe that to be coming down the line regardless of this move. I’ll go out and say I predict an eventual draft and recruiting goes away. What we all knew as college football is gone already but it will come imo.

The question you should always ask when you hear these rumors is "does adding this school to the SEC bring a new television market?" In this case it does, so we should not dismiss it.

The cost for a school to leave the ACC will decrease over the next few years, starting at $165 million in 2025 and dropping to $75 million by 2030-31. This new exit fee structure was established following a settlement involving Florida State and Clemson. Yahoo sports

Plus Virginia is a very good academic school to add. And they could be good at sports. Used to be a decent football team. Aren't they usually pretty good in baseball every year?

No, not worth the effort anymore.

My Granddad was a Freshman on Shug’s first Freshman team.
