I hope he never pitches there unless its a rehab start. AAA is used as a IR stash for the big club.

I never knew the nuance between Triple-A and Double-A. I always just thought Triple-A was the higher level and where the best minor leaguers were.

Most of the truly big time players only get a week or 2 or better yet skip AAA, not all but most. Usually AA straight to MLB. This is even more true with pitchers rather than hitters. I just hope Gage does well wherever he is. Cheers

This is just simply not true. There are maybe 2-3 players per year across all of MLB that only do a couple weeks/months in AAA before heading up.

The notion that AAA doesn’t have more major league ready players than AA is simply wrong.

ETA: And I don’t know of a single player in the past 10 years or so that has just outright skipped AAA. Skenes pitches 7 games in Indy, Bobby Witt Jr. played half of 2021 in Omaha.

The idea that players just jump from AA to the league couldn’t be further from the truth. Just flat out wrong.

Did you know Arkansas had the most players drafted in the NCAA this year?

Program record 11 picks.

*Checks the trophy case* Oh, it looks the same.

Better watch it for stating facts and using common sense… 5,4,3,2,1… incoming deflections!

4 first rounders. That has to be a record as well.

2 first rounders and 2 compensatory picks. Calling that 4 first rounders by the athletic department is a joke and a stretch.

Oddly enough, Benintendi did just that. Probably a few more examples if you look hard enough, but admittedly very rare.

It does feel like many of the high end college picks are bypassing AAA altogether when Caglianone only plays 12 AAA games before he's in the bigs.

Congratulations to all these Hogs, I really enjoyed watching them play this season. It was probably the coolest season I can remember with all the diversity in players and the fan involvement. It’ll be hard to match for sure…

I actually forgot completely about Benintendi. That tells you how terrible the LF situation was in Boston that year next to JBJr and Mookie. But I highly doubt the current Red Sox front officer would do that again considering how they (correctly) handled Mayer and Anthony.

And Jac fits exactly into my “2-3 players per year that spend a couple weeks/months” in AAA before going to the show.

I'm here to take my lumps. I was trying to say I hope Gage is so good he skips AAA like Benitendi, Griffey Jr, Trout etc, and in haste, claimed "most" players skipped AAA.

It was an honest mistake, and I throw myself at the mercy of the court.

I still hope Gage is so good he skips AAA altogether.

All good dude, Cornelius caught me on Benintendi as well.

Respect for owning up. Usually the internet is primarily a medium for doubling down.
