When did these become a thing? For reference, I graduated in ‘94. (I remember some controversy, at that time, about Rammer Jammer). Dixieland is just corny and borderline embarrassing with the shakers to the music. Willy is more recent and must be an Auburn plant to make us look bad. He’s just an alcoholic, functional retard that people are taking advantage of. I saw that he’s going to be at the Deer Expo. Who wants to associate with this? It’s not even cheesy funny, it’s just sophomoric.
Anyway, I’ve got kids on my lawn and the clouds are taunting me, gotta run.

It is. Figs will be ripening soon through October. My favorite fruit. I’m guessing that you think every fig is a Brown Turkey.
Enjoy the Expo and get you a signed pic of Willie to put next to your Bear Bryant Coke bottles. You’re still convinced they will be worth thousands one day, lol.

LSU has produced many excellent fig varieties (plants), Auburn has produced plum trees.

Midol should help with the cramping. Good luck

So embarrassing that Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas, and even Oklahoma State have ripped it off
It’s the coolest thing we do at home games. Deal with it

I graduated in ‘94 too
Rammer Jammer was banned for a few years during that period. Weird.

I couldn’t remember exactly. I think we just sang it without the band playing. We also had the “meat pole” with the pennants of the teams we had beaten. Big Al would carry it around. What ever happened to that?

Yep singing it without the band rings a bell. It still happened but not as good.

And what happened to the Yell Crew... pretty sure they resurrected the meat pole in the 2000s according to a "friend" who was a member. It seemed to die off again once they vanished.

I don't get the Willy hype either. He's just a retard that barely even knows what planet he's on and plays into the SEC stereotypes. If you want to popularize a random arse fan, make it someone like this:

The 12 down votes says you've insulted a lot of Bama Rant posters.
That in itself is quite concerning.

I’m an alumnus and lifelong fan, but have to admit, we have a lot of Willy’s. Why do we promote/defend one of them? It’s bizarre.

Dixieland delight came after my time as well and I graduated in 2003.
They played at the games but the added lyrics were not a thing then.
Now student section cup throwing was big back in those days.

Probaly because we didn't beat enough teams after Stallings to have a "meat pole"

RT Willy, I'm take it or leave it. Dixieland Delight is fine by me. I'm a pretty stereotypical alumni type fan who doesn't really care for people who make a horse's arse of themselves in public over my alma mater's football team, so I get it.

I remember Rammer Jammer being banned around that time as well. I remember they used to sing it before the game started and the phrase was:
"we're gonna beat the hell out of you".
When it came back it was only after victories and the obvious, "we just beat the hell out of you".

So am I and no one has a problem with me until I forget to wear my helmet to the liquor store.

Can someone please tell me what that stand tune Alabama plays after the rammer jammer these past few years is? I’ve been watching Alabama games for years and noticed that Alabama plays this random stand tune that builds up to a swing section at the very end of a win. I can’t tell if it’s a rap song or some kind of chant but there are videos of Jalen being interviewed at the end of the Georgia game where it can be heard loudly as he says “roll tide!”
Ken Ozello might be the most awful director of bands I’ve seen in some time with such a large amount of resources at his disposal. Hope he gets fired soon. His shows are awful too.

I'm really glad you added this super relevant part. It doesn't seem weird at all.
I love me some Dixieland delight and some roll tide willie!
