Look, what Sully did in the regionals was inexcusable. But, so was the Coastal Carolina coach (who wasn't even in that game) commenting to the media about it.

You. Just. Don't. Do. That.

Glass houses, my friend. Coastal's coach made a complete arse of himself in the game yesterday. Ejection was justified and his reaction was far worse than what Sully did.

You don't see Sully going and making comments about it. Because there's an unwritten rule of not calling out other coaches in the media.

frick Coastal Carolina.

Wait did he call out Sully in the presser at the World Series?

I knew he did in the Regional.

What was great was in the post game press conference he led with a motto their team has of "owning it" without any explanations or excuses....then goes on for 5 minutes for why he didn't need to own getting tossed.

and Jay's comments were perfect. When asked a direct question about the ejection, Jay did not say anything negative about their coach. Just said, I was too locked in to pay attention to what was going on over there

That's how you're supposed to handle it.

Schnall is two-faced.

Yeah my focus was on Sully during that drama … but I agree… Schnall came off as a dick and unprofessional publicly calling out another HC like that. It was unnecessary.

So it is kind of funny/ironic how it all played out with Schnall in the CWS

There’s probably a reason Shnall has been an assistant coach for 30 years

Coastal Carolina looks like a bunch of idiots and asshats.

There is a definition of accountability in the dictionary that this coach failed to understand. Instead of accepting responsibility, he blamed the umpires for not allowing him to speak, despite being warned several times prior to his ejection. When his team needed him most, he and his first base coach selfishly abandoned them. Next time, he should humble himself, as his attitude will influence his team’s behavior. Showing a lack of respect for the opponent is a direct reflection of the head coach. It's disappointing, especially considering that these are the individuals that teams are lining up to hire.

Agreed. You act like you belong there, not like a small school nobody with a chip on your shoulder (UL-Carencro comes to mind).

Oh you mean the coach who publicly called out Sully for yelling at the official now thinks he should be able to yell at an official?

What a whiny beotch.

Here is a picture of Sully watching the game yesterday.

Schnall on Sully:

quote:

“As a coach, it’s our job to mentor young kids and the way he treated the two site reps, the way he treated our associate AD, the way he treated our field crew is absolutely unacceptable,” Schnall said. “That’s what I’m most disappointed about. This is a national champion coach who thinks he can come in here and try to bully people around.

"I’m disappointed. Somebody that a lot of coaches look up to, for him to act that way, I’m really disappointed. He disrespected a hall-of-fame coach who’s the site rep here. That’s all I’ve got to say.”

What a fricking hypocrite.

How anyone can defend this particular umpire is completely baffling to me.
And I defend the referees/officials/umpires 99.9% of the time.
But not this time. He could have easily diffused the whole situation with no ejections.
But it was obvious he wanted to flaunt his authority. IT WAS THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.
You don’t throw out a coach, much less two coaches out in the FIRST INNING.
And after reading about this particular umpire’s past, it is obvious he was/is on a power trip regarding of how he conducts himself on the diamond.
It is pretty obvious as to why he is no longer a MLB Umpire and hopefully going forward, no longer a college baseball umpire.

Most non LSU fans feel the same way... More so knowing the background of this specific ump in MLB. Shame on the NCAA for hiring this guy.

Ignore the chirping. Umps do it all the time.

For sure, umps make a call and coaches say stuff, that happens.

I've never seen a situation where a coach is already agitated coming into the game and just continuously yells from the dugout for an entire inning until he's given a warning and then comes on to the field.

Big game. Showing he has his guys back. Balls and strikes have been a wild ride all year. This ump is infamously thin skinned, I doubt anyone else calling that game tosses him.
