Notre Dame takes shots at Brian Kelly for no reason?

Marcus Freeman Is Doing What Brian Kelly Couldn't at Notre Dame: Building a True Power
Marcus Freeman is taking Notre Dame football to another level. The Irish win big games now.
Article
Their beat writers low key dropped an interesting article that really takes some shots at Kelly. Digging into his big game record, and all.
Now I dislike LSU too, but why even make this article? Seems low spirited by ND. Are they after the same recruit or something?

No coach has never left them willingly before, the message they heard was that Notre Dame wasn’t the pinnacle program in the sport anymore and that has absolutely enraged them.
That a coach would dare leave darling Notre Dame also severely triggered the national media.

We had some A&M beat writers do an early look at Notre Dame. I go check to see if the Notre Dame side has A&M early looks, none, but they do have material on Brian Kelly.

They're like Aggie baseball fans.
They can't get over their ex boyfriend.
In an attempt to do so, they're forced to cope and pretend that teams like 2024 Indiana, Penn State, and Georgia are equal to teams like 2012 Bama, 2018 Clemson, and 2020 Alabama.

Because you had to be mean, let’s post some of the article.

That being said, just being competitive isn't good enough at Notre Dame. This brand made its name by winning big games on the big stage. This is where Kelly's tenure in South Bend, despite all of the double-digit win seasons logged, fell woefully short.
Against top ten opponents, Kelly carded a 3-8 record with five of the eight games being losses of more than two touchdowns. This 27% success rate against the best teams in the biggest games left Irish fans in a constant state of frustration.
Just when the team would play well enough to get fan buy-in, the next big game humiliation would hit, undoing any previous credibility gained.

The fact Freeman got his team to the playoff and beat Georgia in the process is why the ND beat writers are writing such an article.
Kelly was good at Notre Dame but when it came time to be great he always folded.

Kind of odd to take shots years later after he left. They seem butt hurt about it.
They seem like bitches.

Maybe but does the article get posted on the Rant otherwise? The article was written to drive clicks and shitting on another team’s coach is a good way to do that.

Yeah, never mind the fact that Georgia was bad enough to lose two regular season games and also lost their starting quarterback.
This is DEI style reasoning. Lower standards then pretend the achievements still mean the same.

This has been going back and forth, after ND lost in the National Championship, the LSU beat writers wrote it was proof Kelly is better than Freeman.

Brian Kelly vindicated as Notre Dame falls short in College Football National Championship loss to Ohio State Buckeyes
Brian Kelly took a lot of heat over the past couple weeks as the comments resurfaced following his exit from Notre Dame as he joined the LSU program back in 2022. But as it turns out, he may have been right after all.
Ryan Day and his Ohio State Buckeyes defeated Marcus Freeman and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 34-23 in the College Football National Championship, vindicating Brian Kelly (for now).
Kelly of course now famously said, "I want to be in an environment where I have the resources to win a national championship." He didn't mince his words. Brian Kelly made it clear that after spending several years at Notre Dame he felt that the Irish simply would never be able to win a national championship in this modern age of college football.

What does that say about Brian Kelly losing four regular season games?
At some point it can’t be about blaming what he took over.

It means his team also wasn't very good.

Both schools had a coach leave for another program.
There are massive differences in the context.
You know this, but just prefer to be an arse.

That's weird. He seemed to be good enough for Notre Dame for 11 seasons.

Compare BKs record the last 3 years there to Freemans first three.

Marcus Freeman at ND: .714
Brian Kelly at ND: .697
Notre Dame got better when he left.
Yikes!
