For 2025 total attendance in Mississippi for the big 3 schools:
MSU #3 - 330,009
Ole Miss #4 - 308,917
Southern Miss #13 - 151,162
Total - 790,088
That's pretty good for one of the least populated states in the South.

Including Southern Miss in that attendance number with Ole Miss and State is like including my net worth with Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos’s
I’m assuming number 1 was LSU and Arkansas was number 2

and a poor state. All 3 Mississippi schools show out for baseball. Does this number include the games in Pearl and Biloxi or just home games?

Also crazy to think about where the schools are located in the state and we still do numbers.
Jackson metro folks have to drive 1.5 - 2.5 hours to get to any games. DeSoto county folks are a bit closer to Oxford but it’s not next door.
Hattiesburg is the only one with a relatively large local population.

The thing with southern’s park is it’s not that it’s small, it’s just an outdated dump. There are plenty of parks across the country that seat 5-8k but are really nice, and there’s no reason why Southern cant do the same with as much consistent success as they’ve had

Your net worth is half of Bill Gates’?

Imagine if state hadn’t had a down year.

State has thrown all their cash into baseball. And they will continue to do so. Baseball is a sport they hang their hats on and I can’t blame them with their history. They have good coaches in football and basketball. Ole Miss has dedicated themselves to succeeding in sports. Our kids are doing better in schools and at the end of the day Mississippi isn’t going anywhere.

Yet to be seen.
DNF expansion still fuzzy.

I wonder what the attendance is for the Alabama schools. Neither state has an MLB team and I wonder if college baseball is the next best thing. College baseball is a pretty good product if you do it well. And SEC schools do. The area inside Houston to St Louis to Atlanta to Tampa leaves out an awful lot of baseball fans.

I was thinking the same thing! If his net worth is half of Bill Gates, why has Ole Miss only won one big 3 natty in the last half century? There’s only 3 options. Either he’s lying, he’s cheap, or, he’s so happy he’s got a cock in his arse he’ll say anything! I’ll bet my house it’s the 3rd option!

Yet, USM had more than Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, and Mizzou.

Attendance per game is better indicator since teams do not necessarily play the same number of home games.
1. LSU 11,071
2. State 11,000
4. Ole Miss 9,361
13. USM 5,039
Numbers were about the same though LSU played more home games thus boosting their total attendance number somewhat.
Still very impressive for the Mississippi schools. USM’s park is not a dump. But it is tucked in to a small area and would be difficult to expand. To their credit they have developed a good baseball culture over the last 35-40 years.
Give some credit to Coach Polk there as he tirelessly promoted baseball all over Mississippi for many years (including Ole Miss) and it made a difference and that extends even to today.

They almost have report paid attendance even though that is much more than actual attendance. In order to make it uniform across the board.
State’s actual attendance was certainly down this year and the other schools as well. Obviously some people have season tickets but live out of town and only attend on weekends and such.
Still selling that many tickets is still impressive not just our MS schools but for the SEC overall.
