Yet they still play in a HS stadium and can only buy backups off of other teams.

That's honestly not that uncommon for universities. Most consider LSU broke and raised 1.5 billion over a few years. I think the University of Oregon recently raised $3 billion and Oregon is not a wealthy state.

SMU isn't playing around they are going to be a problem. Don't forget they were in the College Football Playoffs last year. They got money to burn.

History has shown that SMU has never had an issue raising money. Legally? That is another matter but those days are over.

I’m sure Clark Hunt (KC Chiefs owner) contributed a large amount. He’s an SMU alum and all 3 of his kids graduated from or are still attending SMU. The youngest is a cheerleader there.
