They greased the light and traffic poles. Maybe while climbing past it he got some on his shoes and that caused him to fall.
Or, maybe idiots just shouldn't be climbing poles and falling off is the price they pay. I was once younger and capable of some pretty stupid shite but I like to think I wouldn't have ever done this if I were in the same situation.

I heard they only greased the poles on University Ave and it was also raining in Gainesville last night.
