Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl is living proof of the theorem that if shameless and relentless for long enough, even the most vainglorious scoundrel can paint himself as respectable. Pearl has been one of college sports’ most notorious con men for decades now — he has been blackballed from the sport twice — and he keeps popping back up, like a penny laced with anthrax. He has one of his best teams ever in this Auburn team, the No. 1 overall seed, albeit one that struggled a bit down the stretch. Pearl is, plainly, a terrible person — there has never been a less surprising MAGA coach, and I can’t think of a more apt metaphor for what it feels like to be an American in 2025 than watching him raise a national championship trophy over his head in San Antonio next month. My stomach is turning just thinking about it.

Knowing the hate spewing from this so-called journalist it makes me want to cheer for Auburn and Pearl (unless they meet UK).
I am now even more glad UK beat Illinois since it made this a-hole so sad. He seems to hate the SEC in general.

I’ve said for years now, Arkansas fans are the most butthurt fan base towards Auburn of any group.
In football, the poverty programs always hate Auburn the most out of the Big 6+2 because they think because we share a state with Alabama that we’re the easiest to pick off. They can’t stand the fact we share a state with Bama yet we’ve found a way to win 2 national titles and play for others while they struggle for relevancy with zero instate competition.
Add in the fact that our basketball program has been at the top of the league for 8 years, and now Arky fans are super annoyed.

Man, I'm sorry but Auburn is not near the top of our list of concerns. Not sure where you got that. In football IDGAF about the big 6 or the state of Alabama, I'm just hoping to win 8 games occasionally

I like Pearl.
I hate AU.
CB-M is their only unlikable player. But, great BB teams throughout shooty hoops history have had the hustling goon squad player(s).
