With winds like these it doesn't take many.

I wondered this when I first heard about it, but it appears to be winds and plenty of fuel for a small innocent fire event to set it off.

Some of these fires are from power lines Wind has been crazy, it’s been blowing all damn day. I don’t even think I’ve seen wind like this during storms.

Hope all are safe.

Side note: if you've never read Young Men and Fire by Norm Maclean (A River Runs Through It author), it is an incredible historical work and analysis.

Only you can prevent forest fires... except when nature circumvents you.

I believe the winds and fuel is what tempts the arsonists.

Yes the conditions are bad, but these sickos want to literally watch the world burn.

Stop throwing your cigarette butts out the car half lit. Or are you going to try and convince us it is climate change

That’s a big issue under the circumstances.

There was a girl who had a flat between pine lbluff and little rock a few years ago and it was late at night and she was scared and drove it on the rim for miles shooting sparks and set miles of tinder on fire. If the wind had been blowing like now there’s no telling the damage that would have been done.

Agree. The fires in California seemingly went quiet after they found out people were setting the actual fires, and then robbing the people after they fled their homes.

I do not deny that there has been a time where Lightning hit the perfect dry spot and created a fire, but most of the time it’s human dunbasses that’s causing it.

It’s scary because there’s a LOT of oil tanks and oil wells on these backroads

Ok let's not all act like we haven't let a fire or 4 get out of hand, the wind is just unreasonably brisk.

God's fault.

In the Sylamore area, wind causing electrical wire arc fires is a main cause.

Happening in Searcy as well, burned a house down today.

So was it the Oklahoma weather system that finally made its way to us?
