A spur is the thing cowboys have on the back of their boots while riding horses. A Gamecock is a glorified rooster. What does spurs up mean?

Maybe you will get another chance at them in the postseason.

When did y'all start doing the spurs up thing? Not hating on it, just out of the loop. I need to know all the pertinent hand signals or I will lose my street cred.

In the world of fighting roosters you have spurs, basically chicken knives

No it wasn't. Folks were doing it AT LEAST when Spurrier was there, if not before.

Yet another narcissistic, yet unfounded claim by Muschamp.

Yes it was created by her for this purpose....this was what Muschamp did when a recruit committed to us and his wife did come up with that term for that. I have been attending games and went to South Carolina as a student and I never remember hearing it used in the program. Beamer uses a "welcome home" and never used 'spurs up' again. Staley uses "a birdie flew into the nest". Staley uses it before the recruit goes public and doesn't mention the name of the player. Beamer uses it together with the players public announcement.

We missed the boat when we hired Paul Mainieri. He is past his prime and not an exciting hire. It was to keep Monte around to take over but that is a worse idea in my opinion. The splash should have been Josh Elander. That was a miss we are going to regret because Tanner was so behind the times. This is as dumb as North Carolina replacing their old coach for another old coach in a world of young kids that are clueless to their world of doing things. You have to evolve and when you do....you can keep up. "We are drunk on ignorance and staggering on stupidity."

Paul already came out and made a public statement talking about how hard Monte is working at the hitting coach. That's a terrible sign this early in the season.

Did y’all make a run at Kevin Schnall or Cliff Godwin? I thought those were obvious candidates that were obtainable.

That's what I was saying. People were doing the gesture LONG before Muschamp arrived.

Seems similar to tits up based on the stabbing motion of a rooster.
