Winningest baseball coach in SEC history is currently Tony Vitello. Could we see another all time run with Vitello in the likes of Saban did in football with Bama and Skip did with LSU on the 90’s? Odds are it won’t happen, but damn, Vitello is off to a great start.

He has gotten results, there is no doubt about that.

Skip had that win % over 15 seasons (17 I think?) and won 5 titles dude. The two are not even comparable yet.

And Vitello is off to a better start than Skip was also in the same time frame of there careers.

In their first 6 years, Vitello has won more games, more sec titles, more national titles and more NCAA tournament appearances. Skip missed the tournament his 5th year all together and Vitello was in Omaha his 2nd time.

Not saying Vitello is gonna be better in the long run, but he is certainly ahead of him though there first 6 years. Skip got his 1st chance at LSU, and Tiger King, Tony V got his first chance at UT.

Skip literally had to cut the grass and paint the stadium with his players.

Vitello is a good coach but to compare him at Tenn to what Skip inherited is laughable but that's on par for you so

Isn't that somewhat due to the fact that there are more games and more teams in the tournament now?

And yet UT still trails LSU 7-1 in NC. And LSU still has the season record in HR's with 188. If that team played in that little league park .................

Nope. Skip as the same amount of titles as Vitello does in the 64 team format.

Odds are he won’t finish equal to Bertman.

Bertman did it without paying players like Tennessee and changing the transfer portal.

Skip Bertman has the best all-time SEC Win % at .673% - that's in LEAGUE PLAY - actual SEC baseball -

Tonya Vitello's is .606%

someone run n tell @BenMcKee14 that -

Ray Tanner (16) nor Skip Bertman (18) never had a losing season in SEC play - TV (6*) has had 2 -

Skip coached for damn near 2 decades. The fact his winning percentage was that high in a game of this type is amazing.
