Props to him! Kentucky is in good hands. Funny how that works out. We as fans always want the sexy names and it turns out coaches like Pope, Golden, and Oats can do great jobs too.

He's got a great class coming in, and has already shown he can bring in the talent he needs for his system. The future for UK basketball is bright indeed.

I’ve heard he’s not doing well and has some sort of infection.

There is nothing remotely remarkable about the job he has done. In fact, in the NIL era and at Kentucky, you could argue its rather poor.

Wut? He didn't have a single player left from last year's team of 5 star prima donnas and he has them in the top 20 and firmly in the tournament.

Alter spamming the board per usual.
Imagine thinking to post that Pope hasn't done a good job, and then actually posting it.

Kentucky fans trying real hard to convince themselves that .500 in conference is doing a great job.

My reaction as well.

This is stupid and you should feel bad. This is the single best conference season every for any conference. Of course most teams are going to be around .500. Couple that with a coaching change, and 0 returning players.
I mean, ask for help posting next time, cause this is just stupid and makes you look bad.

Are you the blue blood of the blue bloods or not?

Yes, but what is your point?
Are you suggesting that Kentucky, as the bluest of blue bloods, can never have a transition year, regardless?
Is Alabama the same? Uconn women's basketball? The Yankees?
My point, and my initial post, was he wasn't hired till April, had only one holdover commit, had to assemble a roster and staff as quickly as he could, and he did it.
He's won more games this year against top 20 competition than anyone, including multiple games against top 10 teams. Yes, we've had bad losses, but anyone who knows anything about basketball, knows the job he has done is overall remarkable for when he started and where he is now. Also, as I mentioned, this is the single best conference year ever in college basketball, in the same conference he is in.
Not to mention, he's shown he can recruit the most talented players, and he knows how to get players that fit the system he runs.
I would have loved to see this team without the injuries, where they would be, but to suggest the job he has done isn't amazing is just moronic.

Well, he certainly has owned Tennessee's arse this season.

Have you read this board the last 12 months? That should answer your question

The cleaning staff at Rupp loves Pope. Getting all the fans out early makes the night shift much shorter.

The Vatican says otherwise.

We've been basically a mash unit. He does some really dumbshit at times, so do all coaches.

Keep in mind that "The university of Cal" was a thing he started at y'alls place. Keep slobering over the boots that we're rejecting.

Shot an arse ton of 3 pointers and don't run a dinosaur offense like Pitino did. Problem solved!

He replaced practically the entire roster in short order, has dealt with constant injury issues all season, has never been able to develop a steady rotation, yet has still managed a decent season that has them ranked.

At Rupp. Crowd anticipating blood…and got humiliated.
That won’t wear off anytime soon.
