Dude, nobody could improve Milroe. Bill O'Brien was right when he told Milroe he needed to find another position because he's not a QB.

Why do you assume just because the guy wasn't an effective OC (with a bad passing QB) that he isn't a good coach at another aspect of the game? DeBoer showed after the season he has the balls to get rid of coaches he doesn't want and apparently he felt Sheridan brings enough to the table that he put him back in his originally hired position.

Three OC's couldn't do anything with Milroe's bad mechanical habits (O'Brien, Rees and Sheridan). It was on full display at the Senior Bowl how bad the guy is as a passer. Players matter and a coach can't fix everything about a player. There comes a point that the problem is the player.

I don’t share your hatred of Sheridan. When he was able to feed Miltoe a scripted playbook the offense was incredible. Look at Georgia first half or LSU. Milroe and the offense looked like the best in the country. The biggest issue with the Alabama offense was when a defense showed them a new look or adjusted during the game. Milroe was incapable of making changes himself in the heat of the game. As for Vanderbilt, I think everyone, coaches and staff, took the week after Georgia at half speed and just assumed they could out talent Vandy. It would not surprise me if they worked on some plays/prep for other upcoming games. That obviously was a mistake.

I could agree with giving him a pass on Milroe. This guy had Michael Penix at QB and still managed to get his arse fired

DeBoer must not know a lot of coaches

DeBoer didn't originally hire him as an OC. He was elevated only after Grubb abruptly took an OC job with the Seahawks. At that stage there weren't many options available. If the guy didn't bring any value he wouldn't have been hired in the first place. So he's not an OC, he's not our OC. He's a position coach and back at the spot he was originally hired. I really don't see the concern...

Penix tore his ACL at the end of 2020 and was never right in 2021 and ended up only playing 5 games because he dislocated his throwing shoulder. That was the year Sheridan got fired. They had 3 QBs get hurt and had to play a walk on.

He served as QB coach under Willie Taggart at South Florida for one season before getting fired. He was named QB coach at Indiana in 2017. When Deboer took the OC job in 2019, he moved him from QB coach to TE coach. When Deboer left to take the Fresno State job, Sheridan was promoted to OC/QB coach. He was shite canned after one season.

I think Milroe's biggest issue was seeing the field. During the bowl game the color commentator, Brock Osweiller, wore his arse out for not seeing wide open receivers. It was painfully obvious. I don't disagree that his mechanics were putrid at times.....but if you can't see them, you can't throw it to them.

Are you saying LSU is going to beat Alabama this season because he is still on the coaching staff?

All of the above. He had bad mechanics, didn't process the game fast enough and couldn't read pre and post snap defensive alignments. Other than that, he was a great QB.

Lol, basically everything, including the kennedy assasination.

We bammers talk about milroe as if he’s the worst qb in recorded history. We should’ve won a nattie with sims, did win with coker. We were maybe a yard away with jalen 2 seasons ago. So what changed?

Where were the in game adjustments with jalen when he wasn’t having his best game..why weren’t the running backs fed, why wasn’t the pocket moved to give him some extra time. Saw no innovation or even attempt at it. Do anything, run the wishbone.

Anyway, seemed like deer in the headlight coaching to me. Grubbs has to be an improvement. Sheridan was in over his head. Hope he’ll help the team in his new role.

Appears that Sheridan was hired as a 1 year band-aid to get the shiity 2024 season over and then more changes could be made afterwards. Sheridan had zero OC experience before that. Sheridan probably knew that going into the position.

LSU couldn’t even beat Milroe and Sheridan. They damn sure won’t beat an actual quarterback and Grubb
