How long of a leash does Brian Kelly currently have?

Would LSU fork over that buyout if he underperforms next season?

His leash is about as long as your wife’s leash…but without bridle and gimp ball

A 50+ Million Dollar leash? More?
Most colleges are forced to ask “if I pay that much to run this guy, what would the talent level look like if we kept his sad azz and bought 50M worth of OL and DL over five years?”
It IS something to consider

He left ND because he said he couldn't win a national championship there.
Hasn't sniffed one at LSU.
Who knows.

Think it is a very unique situation. He won’t ever fall flat on his face, and today’s NIL climate almost makes forking over massive buyouts a thing of the past.
But I think the era of the massive contracts might be over.
To be sure, the coaches will be very well taken care of but the idiocy of long term deals tied to huge buyouts is probably gone.
He and LSU will be just fine.

He's done exactly what most reasonable people expected him to do. Lsu fans should be ecstatic. He's exactly what they paid for.

Gonna be some sideways looks in Baton Rouge if ND wins the ship this year

*Brian Kelly beats Nick Saban in year 1, with a reigning Heisman winning QB, on his way to the SECCG*

He's obviously not the greatest coach but can anyone right now say there's a coach out there that LSU could just go get who would be a couple of levels better?
As pointed out in the thread already, going forward, as long as your coach is serviceable and not doing Freeze or Petrino level shite to your program's reputation, I doubt they get fired and will be given many years to win big games.

There’sss my bitch, right on time.
In year 1, Brian Kelly beat Nick Saban’s Alabama with the #1 and #3 picks in the NFL draft before taking LSU to the SECCG.
In year 1, Kaitlyn DePoor gave up 40 points in a loss to Vanderbilt.

I’d say 2-3 more seasons minimum. Buyout is too big with the dumbass “Woodward” guarantee. Honestly think it would take a couple .500 seasons to fire him.
ETA: I realize this is a troll thread but thought I’d give and honest answer.

Due to a "missed" block in the back call on LSU's go ahead touchdown...

I know, but when you give up 40 points in a loss to Vanderbilt, literally nothing else you do matters.
If it weren’t for UGA shitting their pants and South Carolina’s QB’s inability to complete a forward pass, Kaitlyn DePoor goes 7-5
Imagine not scoring a TD and losing to 6-7 OU by 3 TDs
Even the smartest Gumps know their whole reason for living is gone.
