I hate college football now. Just wait until someone sues over the eligibility issue. Who's to say a guy couldn't play QB into their 40's? It's just a job now, not a student athlete.

Think Ewers is headed to Oregon next season?

I could see that. Lanning loves his transfer QBs and they don't really have anyone ready to step into a spot next year. The guys on their roster probably need an extra year to develop.

You're right and, funny thing, that is exactly the issue with the current transfer portal dates. The portal opens and closes in December. Everyone bitches because it breaks up the season, i.e., players enter the portal and leave before their current team plays a bowl game. So the popular opinion is to push the portal date back to mid-January, when the season is over...but of course, IT IS TOO LATE TO ENROLL AND START TAKING CLASSES AT ANOTHER SCHOOL BY THAT POINT. The reason the portal current opens and closes in December is to that these guys can transfer to another school and enroll in classes.

I was watching some bowl game (forget which one, it sucked anyway) and the commentators were going on and on about how the portal shouldn't open until mid-January. The knuckleheads did not even bother to mention (probably because it didn't occur to them) that it would be too late to enroll in another school by that point. I was just thinking, "ok, fine. but then let's not even bother to go through the farce of making these kids take classes and continue to lie to each other about them being college students."

I mean, honestly, it is fine with me. But let's give up the charade already.

Easy Peasy if they do that....Auburn should then go back to the quarter system. That would work out pretty well and then do the Spring Training post start of the Spring Quarter.
