The inability to establish a legit run game this year is concerning.

I disagree. All four losses are clearly due to Milroe’s play.

He’s either great or terrible. There’s no such thing as Medium Milroe. He needs to go pro or hit the portal. It would be best for all concerned.

If all 4 losses are on Milroe then you just proved the point: its Deboer. He’s the coach, he’s the one who put in the plan and watched it unfold and did nothing to change it. Not Milroes problem.

"All 4" he threw for over 300 against Vanderbilt.

Yes and no. Milroe is terrible however Deboer chose to play him.

Milroe was a massive problem. DeBoer certainly shares in the blame, but let’s not act like Milroe played well. He was worse this season than 2023.

It's not an either or and anyone on the outside can see it. DeBoer is not the Elite level coach Alabama demands, and Milroe likewise at QB.

Deboer got too casual in hiring an OC. He needs a better mind in that position.

DeBoer has never produced good run games at the P4 level, it just isn't his MO

Bold move to openly admit the barn can only be successful when Bama is down, but ok.

It's the gameplan that makes no sense. Forcing Milroe to be a pocket QB is stupid.

He's a decent coach. Just not a great one. And Saban was another level above a great coach.

Decent just doesn't do it for Alabama though.

No

IDC and have more interest in watching AL struggle

But the problem is Milroe, and the lack of faith their staff has in the present backups

Milroe’s handlers need his passing game to develop. It’s his future.

But Milroe’s strongest asset is his legs. If AL could play him like they did on a wet field at LSU vs every opponent, they would be in the playoff

They have been forced to try and develop his reads and development as a passer. He is not that guy

This is the answer.

One game the dude looks like Lamar Jackson. The next he looks like Jamarcus Russell, Raiders version.

Agree somewhat but I think there were extenuating circumstances that prevented him from making the switch. I think he loses some of the players if he switched to Simpson. He inherited what he was left and did what he could. I’m not passing judgement until year three. I think that’s fair.

But hold on a minute, Saban said he is the one to replace me. No coaching search is necessary. The University AD and trustees said oh OK, what a bunch of fools!!!

Milroe

Under Saban: Decent Pocket Passer, opportunistic runner

Under Deboer: Decent Runningback who throws. . .poorly
