Why should my grandson choose Vandy instead of Northwestern? I am an Aggie. He is smart, and his options are wide open

are you looking for schools south of the mason-Dixon with very strong academics? If he wants the best combo of athletics and academics I’d suggest North Carolina, but what do I know

Take him to visit Northwestern when it’s cold out, that’s what convinced me. Growing up in Texas I knew I would be miserable in that weather. Also they are on the trimester system (or at least were) so you have final exams 3x per year instead of twice.

It would have to be somewhere with a strong RoTC program. He is being recruited strongly by Notre Dame,Northwestern , TAMU and Vandy. The service academies are not out either. He seems to prefer Vandy and Northwestern. Guess I am trying to talk him out of Northwestern.

I was at their Kellogg Business school in April. It snowed and was stupid cold. This La boy was not prepared for it.

Stunning views of the lake, but correct…way too cold

remember, it’s his choice. I personally think that Northwestern will give him a slightly better chance in success then vandy, all though the two schools are very closely related.

Vandy is the northwestern of the sec, and vice versa.

Here’s something I found to help

Another one

Hopefully these help

If you’d like you can copy those and send them to your son so he can look at them. Northwestern has slightly higher academics at slightly higher the price, but they are pretty much the same at everything.

Although, considering all the left-wing radicalism that has transformed the eastern/Ivy League schools, I wouldn’t go to northwestern for $1000000. hope these help
