The winner of Ohio State/Oregon wins it all.
If you disagree, say why you feel that way and let's see if we can get a serious football discussion™ going. Bonus for adding who you think will win and why.

Disagree
Neither of them are physical enough to overwhelm Georgia or Texas up front.

If Beck were healthy, I think Georgia would win it going away. As it is...I think OSU, Oregon, UGA and Texas will all be pretty evenly matched and any one of them could win it. This might be a time where playing the extra game for Texas and OSU might actually be an advantage. They both seem to be hitting on all cylinders right now.

So, you think the odds are in favor of the (1)Oregon/(8)OSU/(5)Texas pathway producing the winner?

There’s no elite team, so any of Tex, UGA, OSU, or Oregon could win it.
Oregon’s weakness is their defense, they’ve won shootouts with the playoff teams they’ve played (2 at home and 1 neutral site).
OSU’s weakness is their QB and Oline play. Both were better against UT, but Howard still threw a pick to UT that could have been bad but UT’s offense isn’t good.
UGA and Texas are both questionable at QB. So it’s anyone’s to win and will come down to who can take advantage of the other’s weaknesses while overcoming their own (genius analysis…I know).

Personally, I think that it will come down to which team can score more points, but I could be wrong and you could be right.

I don't think I've ever gone into a postseason saying, "It depends on which team shows up" as much as I have this year.
Ohio State looked great yesterday, but they also lost (at home) to a Michigan team that got smoked by Indiana.
Oregon already beat Ohio State once, but Penn State just put up 300 rushing yards on them.
Texas is just not great, but does either team have the physicality to match them for 60 minutes in the next round?
It's like scrutinizing the first series and trying to figure out if we're seeing the Georgia Milroe or the Tennessee Milroe — college football really seems to be a Jekyll-and-Hyde product in 2024, and sometimes you're not quite sure which team you're going to get until they actually take the field.

Sell. Georgia is too physical.

Oh, it doesn’t stop there. 2nd half “take the field” can be completely opposite of 1st half “take the field” as well. It’s been full chaos this season.

I believe Texas handles the winner of those two, but loses to Georgia a third time in the final.
If Georgia gets knocked out by Notre Dame, I believe Texas will win it all.

It's like every game his year. Depends on which team shows up each week. I think anyone could win it all that is left, with a few good weeks of playing their best football. Texas would have the advantage if hey bring their water bottles with them...

I'm so glad the refs changed their mind. If Texas hadn't been given that INT, they still would've been blown out but would have whined for all eternity about being screwed. As it turned out, they got the call they wanted and still lost anyway.

The reality is those teams will go 4 weeks without a game. That is good for healing guys up.
It is bad, because 4 weeks off is 4 weeks off.

The most well-rounded team will win.
Right now, I feel like it's Ohio State
The four teams who should be there though are:
Ohio State
Georgia
Texas
Oregon
No one else should have even sniffed these playoffs.

It is wayyy too hard to judge home game performances. If OSU plays like that away from home then yes they are an enormous problem. At the same time PSU looked amazing at home too.
Just have to see how it all plays out. I wouldn’t count UGA out even without Beck.

Idk how anyone could watch the SEC CG and favor Georgia in a 3match. Texas defense dominated that game and the offense+special teams gave it away

It’s going to be Georgia, OSU, Texas or Oregon. What the semifinal 4 team playoff should’ve been in the first place as the best 4 teams but OSU is lucky for the expansion since they would’ve been knocked out with that surprising Michigan loss

It's because Texas' offense and special teams would also be participating in a third matchup with Georgia.
