I mean, how many schools are there that actually have a realistic chance of winning a national title? The have nots will only lag further behind.
Serious question: Does D1 CFB eventually condense down into an AAA NFL league?
Alternative scenario: Will HS Seniors eventually be allowed to declare for the NFL draft and bypass college altogether?

No, because the NFL doesn't want to pay them & players do not want to get 3 concussions & a torn ACL playing meaningless games in empty stadiums for $50k a year.

The NFL doesn’t want HS players.

There is 0 thought towards long term planning and consequences right now which is why things are unraveling so badly.

24-32 team super league, athletes are employees. So basically minor league nfl. Similar playoff model to nfl.

They eventually break away from the NCAA completely

Make them real employees who also play sports:
Instead of QB XYZ majoring in General Studies, you’ve got QB XYZ a weed eater operator in the landscaping department

If you want authentic non-mercenary college football, the FCS is what you are looking for.

Texas, Penn St, OSU, GA, Oregon and ND were the clear legit teams. Not many folks could argue against that.
The drop off from those teams is EXTREME and the selection committee really screwed up and has zero clue about picking the most competitive teams.
SMU earned it but did not deserve it as a CFP team.
Indiana earned it but did not deserved it as a CFP.
TN did NOT earn it and they absolutely were not a CFP team. This was very clear watching them all season.
Clemson probably earned and deserved it but plenty of teams better. Hell, just look at my Aggies, played far far far more competitive football against Texas.
South Carolina fans????? You earned being a CFP FAR MORE than Vols. You got screwed as one of the best SEC teams by the end of the year. Shameful.

I assume athletic departments will become for-profit businesses and the schools will simply license brand and naming rights. This would then be a pathway toward the creation of a super league with relegation and promotion. High school seniors will ultimately be recruited and developed at smaller schools and bought as juniors and seniors by teams in the super league.
Those are my Sunday mornings musings.

And private equity firms will get involved to squeeze everything for profit. Too much money involved.
