They’ve been done since 44-16. Clemson broke the mystique right there. LSU, Auburn, A&M, Tennessee, and UGA all put more nails in the coffin over the next four years as Saban started losing to teams and coaches he had beaten consistently.
2020 was an aberration and an abomination. Aside from Devonte, that team has been an NFL bust. They played 0 difficult road games against teams that had major players sitting out. Their championship opponent played 7 games sporadically and didn’t have time to gel. No way that team goes undefeated on a full 12 game SEC schedule with other conference teams at full strength.

- 69-11 record (42-8 SEC)
- 1 National Title
- 1 National Runner Up
- 3 Playoff Appearances
- 3 SEC Championships
- 5-1 vs Auburn, 4-1 vs Georgia, 4-1 vs Texas A&M, 4-2 vs LSU, 4-2 vs Tennessee
The fact that you consider that run to be a "broken program" just speaks to the awe of what Alabama is than anything else.

That's a bonus for them. More practice time, less injuries, less film to game plan, less teams that could have exposed weaknesses.
If LSU played a full schedule and Alabama only played 7 games before the game got played, the entire state of Louisiana would flood with tears.

All of these teams have losing records against Alabama since that national championship game.
