I have been checking my "sources" all morning. Everything was written 15 hours ago. Has anybody heard anything concrete?

Hoke just posted it's a 'shoulder strain' with no surgery required*
*amputations are no longer considered surgery

Thanks. That's the best news we could have hoped for.

My guess is as good as anyone else's but with J Hoke's update I'm thinking he misses Purdue, Monmouth games and returns for conference play in January. Essentially gets 2 weeks of rest, remains in NPOY conversation.

The question is, what is not miss significant time? Two-3 weeks? A month? I honestly think we’ll see him against Mizzou, since that would be almost 3 weeks to heal.

My limited understanding is that once this type of injury happens, the chance for reoccurrence increases. I’m in the camp of letting him sit a little longer and strengthen the shoulder as much as possible before he returns.

This is the same shoulder and injury he had last year in the exhibition game. He didn't miss any games.

I would normally agree, but the thing is the SEC is such a gauntlet that if you wait until like the end of January, you might already be out of the SEC race. I think Pearl will look how do against Purdue without him and then go from there. If we look terrible or like we are struggling, then Broome comes back for the beginning of SEC play. If we look good, then he might allow Broome to rest for another week or so.

We are gonna beat Purdue their center is out with an injury and our guards are better than theirs, except maybe the Smith kid.

We will see. I’m curious what strategy Pearl has without Broome.

Have to find a way to contain Kaufman-Renn.

If it was the final 4, he would play. Just needs some rehab and rest. I think he plays against Monmouth just to get some time back on the floor prior to SEC play.

Bruce is as good as anyone at taking away your #1 option. Denver will guard Smith and do a good job I think

Foul merchant. Heck of a test for Chaney and Cardwell.

frick yeah. Hopefully he still takes it easy.
Glad he's doing well. He looked like he was in real pain initially, May have been shock too from having it happen a 2nd time and thinking the worst initially

Maybe he can wear one of those extra restrictive braces and play Saturday. Maybe it limits his effectiveness but still worth it
