Maybe im getting old and just miss the old school era of college football era. Texas & OU in the SEC, Oregon winning the big 10, free agency. 12 team playoff is good but its not perfect. Take me back to 2006.

You must be an Alabama fan.

They seem to be melting down because of the decline in their own program. All other fanbases have seemingly accepted the new world of football about 2-3 years ago. You're just now playing catch up.

Wrong.

He's an Auburn fan.

You can never go back.

Fans who are the most upset right now are usually the fans who are losing players and finding themselves at a disadvantage.

In time this will all work itself out. Once these final two court cases are settle ... we'll see.

SEC fans loved it when their teams were the only ones paying players.

I’m pretty annoyed with having to watch 4 more top-10 matchups where the loser goes home, followed by another 4 top-10 matchups where the loser goes home, followed by another round and then one more to get a national championship.

It just sucks.

I’m not a fan of recent conference realignments and losing some of the regional matchups. But College football has been broken for decades. NIL just allows all schools to do what some have been doing for years. I would argue only service academies still play the game in the spirit it was intended. It’s still a way to entertain you on a fall Saturday but it will never be what it once was.

Years ago they would show a bio on a player when he made a play. His major, GPA, hometown. I can’t remember last time I saw that.

Why couldn't Texas just come over here and suck like they were supposed to? It's all effed and broken.

I’m glad UGA broke 1980 before this thing truly jumped the shark.

SWC was not much different than any one else, just the members ratted out the biggest abusers and everyone was smeared in the process.

The $100 handshakes and meals and airline tickets were the norm, but it escalated to the point of cars and Fed Ex boxes full of cash and it all came tumbling down.

The institutional shenanigans of the SEC was on a much different level, out in the open for all to see and daring the NCAA to bring accusations against them.

This is the biggest load of horseshite I ever hear from fan bases of teams who couldn’t compete prior to NIL. Their school was the only one not cheating. What a bitch.

STFU sip. Don't act like you weren't paying players. It's been happening since the 70s at Texas.

Y’all better figure out how to tie our arms behind our back, or things are never going back.

Don’t need to. At least the sec teams that won NC prior to NIL earned their rosters through wins and tradition and not because they could afford to buy all the best players. Texas may win it finally but it will only be due to payroll

At least we no longer have the PAC 12. Look on the bright side.

I don't know why this is so objectionable. If you have ever liked high school or pro football, or March Madness, this is the way it's always been done. Why not college?
