Please post this on Tiger Rant. For some reason there is a contingent on there that thinks our results over the past two seasons and counting are acceptable. I would love to try to hear them defend their thesis against you. I really like McMahon as a person and want him to be successful but the indisputable fact is that over the five years he coached here, Will Wade was the winningest coach in the SEC. Now we are mediocre at best. We should be where everyone else is and it’s been proven that it’s possible to be successful in basketball at LSU on many occasions under multiple coaches, but right now we’re not getting it done.

Y’all can continue to make fun all you want because it’s warranted. We have more Final Four appearances than everyone in this conference not named Kentucky, Arkansas, Florida, or Oklahoma. It is embarrassing that we cannot compete with the rest of the league currently.

ETA: Will Wade was the winningest coach over his first four years at LSU.

How much of that is due to the 2018-19 season?

Wade never made it past the Sweet 16, which he only made once. In his last two seasons at LSU he went 1-2 in the NCAA tournament.

Also, I’m fairly sure Pearl had a better record over that stretch but will have to double check that later.

They've been the functioning retard in basketball for many years.

I've never understood how LSU and Georgia have always been so lackluster in basketball. Both schools have population and demographics working for them to be elite in basketball.

Proof that love of LSU has nothing to do with it… just hatred for Bama

Tournament wins this century:
Arkansas 11
LSU 10

Well we have been to a final four this side of the clinton administration

Keep believing yall are Kentucky or UNC

Wade had us back to the Dale days of being a perennial tournament team but…

Brady could never really get any consistency going despite some good years.

Well yeah that’s unsurprising if you were in your thirties or fourties 30-40 years ago. Get off your high horse. No one considers Arkansas some basketball powerhouse.

I wish that Sagarin would finally do a basketball rating for the first time since 2024-25. It would be interesting to see how far the SEC is ahead of every other basketball conference.

I don't recall seeing a basketball conference have such a good year in my lifetime.

I guess the Big 12 is the 2nd best conference, and they'd probably be something like 6 points per team behind the SEC.
