Colorado is ranked #23 and didn’t beat a ranked team all year.

Hunter is a very good player but it seems like the trophy was handed to him by default because he plays both ways.

Does anyone think he’s actually the best player in CFB?

Maybe since Jayden Daniels won last year

Better than handing it to the best player on the best team by default

One of the most relevant Heisman Trophy winners. Best player in a while for it.

The guy had the second most TD catches in college football this season and won the frigging Nagurski Award

Honestly it’s been a down year across the board all year long

Jayden Daniels would've finished 3rd last year says here, so 2023 must've been a complete snooze fest.

As a Bama fan Im just glad they didnt let Milroe in the building. I was sure they wanted to give it to him when the season began. Dude needs to move on but Im fearful hes coming back next year. He says hes playing the bowl game...Im hoping this is him trying to pad his stats to get scouts interested. I doubt it works.

I liked the idea of giving it to a great player who had a great season regardless of the teams record. It's not a team award..it's an individual award. That being said..I like Jeanty better...I think his season I way more impressive.

Top half of Sec teams have players that look like him against weak arse competition.

Awards are a straight joke this year

Pretty sure a Gamecock, DE Kyle Kennard, took home that trophy.

It's an award created to market college footballs best teams, with best players, to create interest in the top bowls now the playoffs.....

Doesn't matter how great you are, if the team you are on isn't elevated to greatness by a Heisman Winners play ....

So so season against mid competition is not that.

What qualifies as an "irrelevant" Heisman Trophy win? At the end of the day, they are still a Heisman Trophy winner and they only select one of those a year.

I didn’t exactly keep up with Colorado. But I saw a few highlights this year that made me think he might be the best athlete playing college football this year.

The only irrelevancy I discern is that you seem to think a team's ranking should determine who is eligible to win the Heisman Trophy.

IMO, that a player from a team not ranked #1 winning it actually makes the Heisman Trophy relevant for the first time in a long time.

It is not possible for me to care less about something than the Heisman.

Although I still don’t have the will and fortitude to free myself of today’s modern mockery of “college” football, I can damn sure not give a flippin shite about the Heisman.

So there’s a W for me.
