And film on Duel threat QB offense. In fact Bobo was on staff and had hands on coaching Stetson. Gunner can do everything Stetson could and maybe better. He just needs the mental part and the reps. What a great opportunity for him, and the team.

Monk was on the sideline Saturday. Stockton is a stud but Lamar Jackson he is not

Neither was stet

True but no one ever caught stet from behind.

Brooks said today that Gunner is not as fast as Stet or Baker. He’s more of a 4.8, 4.9 guy than a 4.65 guy. But he said he’s a bit of a bulldozer or something like that and is a shite talker on the field in the same sort of way as Baker Mayfield. Guy you love to have on your team but hate to play.
Hopefully we craft a game plan to play to his strengths. That long windup is a little bit of a limiting factor.

Gunner can't come close to doing what Stetson did running the ball. Stetson had the ability to make tacklers look stupid. Gunner tries to run over linebackers. I'm concerned with Gunner staying healthy for three straight playoff games. Kirby needs to be giving Puglisi plenty of reps.

Stetson still being undervalued.

We just need him to be 80% like Stetson Bennett.

The only similarities I see between Gunner and Stetson are that neither is tall and they have interesting first names. Everything about Stetson is quick; has a quick release, can cut on a dime, flip around in the pocket and make a pass rusher look silly. I'm not going to say Gunner can't do (or learn to do in the future) some of those things, maybe he can. So far he's had limited opportunity to develop and display his skills as a college qb.

Y'all are leaving out one intangible that kind of showed itself in the SECCG. Gunnar has been practicing daily against arguable the best CFB defense program in the country.

I don’t think 1s and 2s do a ton of practice against our starters on Defense. A lot of it is against the scout team. At least it used to be that way.

Gunner's benefit is he'll make the run game more viable.
Even if he can't break a 40 yarder, his style draws defensive attention and he can consistently make the run option of the RPO a 4-5 yard gain for both the RB and the QB.
If he does that, look for them to hit the TE over the middle more consistently.

Negative is they can walk up safties

A little veer option football in the run game would help tremendously.

But if the safeties are up and the back gets by them we might see the big runs we saw with Nick and Sony. That’s why those big runs happened with them so much.

I still like the chances of consistently getting positive yards.
And if they want to make the passing game simpler for the young QB, I'll take that too.
