Texas spent some cash on this one.

Pretty sad that’s what this sport has become. Hopefully a salary cap can come at some point before it’s too late

Don't see how a salary cap can stop corporate NIL, of which Texas has a ton. You can't stop Texas- or Austin-based companies for paying a kid for their NIL.

Can't blame the kid for taking the money. We could''ve spent more, but it's just not smart given the bust rate of five stars.

If college football starts losing money because 3 programs spend millions to win something will change. That being said he was selling commitment tshirts today so someone will grab him out of the portal after next year

Not a salary cap, but rev sharing.

Or that you couldn’t match given that you would have also had to bump up Griffens cash.

Lol he wasn’t even being discussed on your board. Just a lump of cash put out in the last 24 hours and you got him. Congrats but damn it’s pretty lame, and if you can’t see the issue then that’s even worse.

Agree with this 100%.
“Thanks for signing w no drama. You should’ve played the game cause we just gave this guy a ton more cash for holding out.”

No, we could've bumped his too, but it probably causes problems with other players on the team that haver already performed and what they are getting.
Perhaps that's not a problem in Austin and as a result everyone gets a raise.

It's not a problem for them because they have the cash to do it and maybe enough to keep everyone else happy as well. We'd be pounding our chests if we were the same.
As we've seen in other sports though, teams that spend the most don't always become the dominant teams.

Yeah, no... He visited in October and the OTF Podcast has thought we have had a legit shot ever since.. This didn't just come out of left field.. In fact, last week, they said the team that signed Terry would end up #1.. which proved to be true..
Was money involved? 100%.. but this didn't just happen overnight..
