I agree. But considering what the refs did to SC vs LSU, they're really a 2 loss team.

So if SMU wins, who do you think the 12th team should be?

How many does Arkansas have? Just curious.

Meh, LSU had no problem with being in a BCS championship game with 2 losses.
I don't have an issue with three loss teams, but your point about all three teams not deserving a playoff is correct. All three teams have bad losses. If OM lost to UGA, LSU, and USC by a total of 13 points, I think we'd have a different conversation.

actually JK - UGA win is the only thing keeping us in discussion

Just for shites & giggles...Army is 10-1 with their only loss being to 11-1 Notre Dame. If having 3 losses drops you out...why not include a 1-loss team?

The widdle tiggers are taking this playoff scenario harder than any of their FOUR losses.

Don’t be a basic bitch, i had more respect for SC

I’d love to see Army win it all. What a story that would be.

Meh...the SEC is by far the best conference. I'm OK if people want to give a a 3-loss SEC team the benefit of the doubt over a 2 loss team from any other craptastic conference.

That’s fine if you think that. I don’t even totally disagree. It’s a 12 team playoff (and it sounds like it is eventually going to be 14 team playoff) and at some point 3 loss teams are going to have to be considered in order to fill every spot.

If you don’t have the chest to beat SEC refs, CFP refs are gonna eat you alive. Shane Beamer weaned to early from his old man. He’s a decade away from being a decade away.

By the team had X losses and didn’t deserve it logic, Kansas should have played Ohio State for the title. Kansas finished 12-1 after winning their bowl game against then #3 Va Tech.

This statement is just wrong to arbitrarily say a team with X number of losses doesn’t deserve to be in the playoffs.
You have to judge each team on its body of work. Objectively, being one of the five highest rated conference champs means that you “deserve” to be in the playoffs.
The other seven spots are subjective. I would argue that neither Penn State nor Indiana are clearly auperior teams to Alabama, USC or Ole Miss. yet playoff committee simply judges teams primarily by the number of losses, so the former are considered to be “in” while the latter are fighting for one spot.
I would argue that Alabama, USC and Ole Miss have all done enough to merit consideration for the playoff.
Upon review, I would say that it is pretty clear that, Ole Miss clearly has the better resume in a comparison of those three teams-
1- Ole Miss and Bama both beat USC
2- OM and Bama played four common opponents with a record of 3-1
3- Ole Miss beat UGA and USC (at UsC) by double digits. Alabama won both games by a single score, with the outcome in doubt to the end.
4- Ole Miss and Bama split with LSU and Oklahoma, but OM loss was in OT compared to Bama losing by 3 TD.
5- As bad as Ole Miss’s loss to Kentucky was, it was early in the season and only by 3 points. (Think Northern Illinois - Notre Dame) Alabama lost by 3 TDs in week 14.
