On the teck pass interference call, some are saying the ball was tipped. The TV people never showed it being tipped. I have not seen a replay of the game.
On the Jackson tackle on King in the fourth quarter when King coughed up the ball some are saying that should have been targeting. Targeting calls can be initiated by the replay booth. They did not. I thought Jackson hit him in the chest area, King's head snapped back from the collision.
Thoughts?

Looked like it might have been tipped when I replayed it, ball doesn’t spiral the same.
The worst was the holding on our TD drive, I agree there is “holding” on every play, but that was pretty bad and they didn’t call it on us.
As for the hit on King, we got very lucky. Jackson led with the crown of his helmet and never lifted up until after he hit King in the chest. On review, they should have changed it to targeting.
Either way, I’ll take it. First time I feel like we’ve been the beneficiaries of ref calls in a long long time

There was one that should have been called on tech, too...

Tech also got away with a ton of egregious holds.
Tech got away with targeting on the TD to #6.
We got a 15 yard penalty when our lineman was engaged and took a second lineman shot at the knees. We get a 15 yard defensive holding instead of Tech getting a chop block.
The PI in OT on our LB was not as bad as the PI Tech had on our #16 that was not called.
Like i said before, if they start calling targeting between the tackles at the LOS, football is over.

The holding call was bad. Never saw anything that proved the ball was tipped.
The Jackson hit has zero angle showing him hitting with crown first. Shoulder impacted chest, we can only assume head went into ball.
Dan shouldnt drop his head like that just to keep himself safe, but can't say he lead with crown.
They missed the pass interference in n Humphreys and a false start, plus multiple bad missed holding calls.
They had multiple chances to win in OT and failed. frick em

I kind of remember a facemask that Tech had and some holding they did that wasn't called. Tech didn't get many penalties and it was odd.
That said, they had a whole freaking extra week to prepare for us and get healthy. They gave it everything and we still won.
So, Tech whiners -

Am I the only one who saw techs Oline tackling our defensive line all night?
I’m not talking about knocking them on their arse I’m talking about wrapped up tackles with both players going to the ground.

There are bad calls in every game, tech was up by 17 at half and 14 late in the 4th. They should have never let one bad or missed call affect the outcome of the game. Especially when you have that big of a lead.

They were holding pretty bad all night. I called it many times to the watch party crew.
I was just talking about the penalties end of game that Tech fans are bitching about which is what OP asked.

Facemask on Cash Jones that wasn't called

Lesser teams have a hard time finishing off better teams in those moments.
You get to see who the real champions are in those situations, in this case, it was GA

Yes, the defensive holding called on the Georgia lineman when he was chop blocked was there for the whole world to see.
The PI called on Georgia in the OT was a mystery to me. I kept looking for it and did not see it. Thankfully they did not score.

I suspect if he didn’t “hold” the lineman, he’s probably not walking today or for a while with 2 broken legs. That is quite possibly one of the most egregious calls I’ve ever seen. It’s right there with Austin and Norman.

And teck targeted Lovett on his leaping TD pass. You could tell he was woozy as he left the field.
I can't remember which overtime it was, but teck tackled Cash(?) before the ball got to him.
That's all fine, thought. Let Texas think we only won because of the refs.

After all of the bitching about that I watched the Sat games closely and lost count of the times a defensive player lowered his head and made helmet to helmet contact. It happened over and over and over.
Could they have called it? Yes. But the only thing Jackson was targeting was the ball. It’s almost physically impossible to go low on a tackle and NOT lower your head.

Refs missed the holding call on us. I'm not sure that the pass was tipped because the ball still had a tight spiral. Coach Key was signaling tip but no replay. Jackson's great play wasn't targeting. King was a runner hit in the chest area at the line of scrimmage. I've never seen a targeting call in that kind of situation.
It seems like every extremely close game could have gone the other way based on calls.

Acc hooked them up to help them. That was only their 3rd game in November, and they gave them 2 extra rest days.

Targeting…I saw two on tech, one I think was on a 4th quarter score of ours.
The hit on King..the QB also lowered his head and it looked more to me like Dan went to the side. Could it have been? Yes. Was it the most obv? No.

At least Tech fans aren’t saying their kicker is on the take.
