I have heard some people in the Carolinas talking about Drinkwitz kicking the tires on the UNC job.
He knows and likes the area and feels like he has reached his ceiling at Mizzou

It would make sense. Easier to recruit, better school, better donors,

What does this really mean? Radio talk show host speculation or something substantial? The old "I've been hearing..." line usually means something they heard while sitting on a barstool.

Heard some people in the Carolinas have ya?
I heard some people in Utah talking about what they think of people who don’t cite actual sources.

I'd probably go after the coach that put up 70 on me with G5 talent.

On this board, "I'm hearing" normally means "I read this when a troll posted it in another thread here and decided to make it a topic".

Ahh yes I’m sure he’ll take a pay cut to jump to a worse job at a basketball school

There would likely be nothing to gain aside from geography and likely a pay cut involved.

Why would he leave Mizzou for UNC? If this was a basketball coaching search, then sure, I get it. But Mizzou football is ahead of UNC football by pretty much any metric: success, revenue, attendance, viewership, conference affiliation, recruiting...

Because I heard it from a guy who heard it from a guy
They want him to leave because he’s annoying and he has Mizzou winning, so they’re all wishing he would and that’s the first spot they could find

Yeah, I tried googling the coaching search candidates and didn’t see him mentioned. But if he were looking to make a move now would be the best time for him.

He will get out of Columbia at the first opportunity if he’s smart.

Easier path to the playoffs?

He makes $9 million dollars a year at Mizzou, which is 10x easier to recruit to than UNC. The Tarheels have a better chance of landing Saban than they do getting Drink to take that job.

It’s called getting out ahead of the posse. Wouldn’t be a terrible move for him honestly.

If true then why North Carolina is farther down in NIL this year and last year too? Look at recruiting ranking too!
