It's gonna be fun when DeBoer gets his own QB in there

You don't win as many games as he has and not know what you're doing. He lost 29 players in the off season and he was obviously hindered by Milroe who couldn't run his full offense. He still went 9-3 with Milroe at QB.

OP, I want to think that, but I'm gonna have to see it. By watching Deboer PC, he is either a great liar or really clueless. The OC has proven his playcalling and scheming is questionable. If Deboer keeps the OC, it won't bode well for the future. And the DC is right there behind the OC in debating whether to replace him or not.

Milroe is the enigma or enigmas. Sure there are players that bipolar, being on some games and others not, but I can’t remember any player in the last 20 years with such a wide gulf between his good days and his bad days. When he’s on, he’s unstoppable, but if he’s off, he looks like a highschool senior on a recruiting trip that somehow found a uniform and made it into the field. Completely lost.

Milroe is just not fixable. I mean the playbook had to be really dumbed down to fit him. They tried to play to his strengths which is mostly running. That's 3 (counting Bob) coordinators who couldnt fix him. If he had somewhat of a consistent passing ability, then I bet the OC would look much better than he does. It's just so dang limited with him at QB.

How can you judge the OC fairly when your QB is turning the ball over constantly, falls down at the first sign of contact often and always runs out of bounds rather than putting in the extra yards.

I see announcers constantly talking about how a QB wins over their teammates when they see them putting in the effort in and taking the hits etc. I remember Coker doing that big time. What does it mean when you have a QB that often refuses to take the hits?

To be fair, he was a little better yesterday to my relief. But still not all that great. How do you watch a game like OU where their QB puts in that much fricking effort to move the ball while watching your QB fall to his knees and then blame the OC?

If you have a QB that's based on using his legs, then he damn well better be someone who falls forwards. That's how Meyers won with QBs like that. The only time you ever saw Tebow go to his knees was praying after a TD, or in victory formation.

He may be a terrible OC, I don't know. But you can't shite on an artists paint brush and then call them a bad artist because the painting is just shades of brown with the occasional peanut.

DeBoer is going to be fine if Bama can be patient with him. The guy is a winner. Let him get his bearings down here and his QB in place. The rest of the conference is trying to pressure you guys into dumping him early. Hang in there.

Bama is no longer one of the few programs paying players. Now, you have to deal with real programs from real states that have a laundry list of billionaire donors. Bama got raided last offseason, but that is nothing compared to what is going to happen in the coming years. This season is likely the last time Bama and Playoff will be mentioned in the same conversation.

Alabama is the new LSU and LSU is the new Nebraska. Small state, relatively poor fan base.

I can't remember the last time I've seen anything like it. It really is a sight to behold.

Alabama is still recruiting at the top.

If you think Alabama lost to teams like Vandy because of a drop in talent, I just don't know what to say really.

All great points. To put it simply Sheridan didn't base his offense around Milroe's strengths and stick to a game plan that featured those. To demonstrate this I'd have to go play by play and thats too deep to get into. I just saw all sorts of goofy play calling. Granted I don't know which errors are Milroe and which is Sheridan. It just seemed that we started the year with Milroe passing and run if things broke down. Sheridan finally figured out to let Milroe just run the ball on designed plays and use the running backs. Then he got too QB run happy. Very bi-polar in playcalling to me.

As far as I could tell, Milroe is the only running QB to start for Deboer. Him & Sheridan were gamplanning for a style QB they'd never had before & I think it showed. Once they get an accurate passer under center, I think it will look more like Deboer's offense.

Saban must have been an awful coach as well seeing as how he took this same team plus the 40+ players who transferred or went pro (Arnold, Niblack, Turner, Amos, Bond, etc) and was a play away from shitting the bed against Auburn, Arkansas and South Florida. Not to mention was blown out by a team Deboer beat.

Saban lived off paying players and retired as soon as they let everyone. KD came into a loaded roster that Saban had top 4 and took it backwards. Lost to a Vandy team that had never beaten a top ranked team in history. We won't even get into the OU blowout.

What about the other positions? You think he will bring better players in than Saban? Lol

This will be DeBummer’s best Bama team.
