Recently my 20 year old nephew passed away. He was autistic and was highly functional but had a seizure in the middle of the night and had a heart attack. He was a remarkable person who got to have his dream job of working at chick fil a and he was one that never had a bad day. Constantly happy and made sure everyone around him was happy as well. This has been a very hard time for the whole family. His brother is in 8th grade and loves Auburn basketball.

I had talked to his dad (an Auburn grad) about hoopsgiving in Atlanta and how he should take him since he has never been to a college basketball game. I was trying to think of a way to make the game even more special for them.

Is it a scenario that Bruce and team do meet and greets during these trips? Them getting to meet Bruce before the game at a meet and greet or anything of that nature would be amazing although I do not know how to send a note to him or his team. The story of my nephew who died is really inspirational and I know how big Bruces heart is.

Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear about your nephew. Best of luck with this. That would be an amazing tribute.

Like the kentucky fan said. Start with reaching out. Maybe talk in some capacity to a radiostation or something from auburn. I think you'll get a better response than you might think.

I am sorry for you and your family’s loss. I don’t have any suggestions, but I wish you the best of luck. And good on you for trying to do something to honor him.

Damn, man I'm truly sorry. There's a charity in Auburn run by Tim Hudson's wife that could probably help you. Reach out to them. I can't remember the name but I know people who's volunteered for them before and the charity holds a lot of events at the arena, meaning they have connections with the team and could probably set something up.

Edit: it's called the Tim Hudson Family Foundation.

Sorry for your loss Rest easy young man.I have a cousin who is Rhett’s syndrome diagnosed and severely autistic. She’s 27 now and has beaten the odds. But restricted to a wheelchair for the rest of her life and is not capable of feeding or bathing herself.

Happy Thanksgiving to the rant

I don’t know about a meet and greet, but I will buy tickets for the family. Send me an email auzach91@gmail.com. I also have a close friend that works at State Farm that may be able to pull some strings. Can’t promise anything but I will absolutely try all I can. So sorry for your loss.

You never know til you ask, you may get more than you bargained for, especially during the holiday season.

My condolences to the family and you, your heart’s in the right place.

You are the man - this hits me where I live; my high functioning autistic daughter is 14 now - I can’t even imagine…

Hoping this meet and greet gets set up…
