I didn’t see the game. How did the backups look? Saw several other than Simpson got some attempts.

Simpson was a total psychopath and gave no fricks.

Simpson looked like a gun slinger on his passes. Made some nice runs, wouldn't come away impressed. Looked to put the ball in harm's away against better competition.

Lonergan got the ball out in some tight windows and was on time. Definitely tell he knew where to go with it. Did nothing to wow though, looked like a game manager in his limited snaps.

Mack had very limited snaps but his one long touchdown pass was definitely the wow moment of the group

They all played well and threw the ball into tight spaces.

Bunch of short intermediate move the chains stuff with Simpson and then started airing it out at the end of the first drive. Second drive basically just let him do the same deep shots approach. Did one of those Manziel dodge the sack and then chuck it to the endzone, not smart not pretty but not really sure where anyone was on all 22. DB almost got back to it

Lonergan was basically the same thing as Simpson when he started (short/internediate) but half as many reps. Didn’t air it out.

They threw Mack in shortly after and he threw a corner endzone dart to Rico (31 yards or so). Then we just let Cade carruth and other walk ons play

Seemed like we pulled everyone off the bench for some reps in the fourth

Overall QB room looks good heading into offseason if/when Milroe declares

Don't listen to these fools. Simpson looked really good. The other guys were fine.

Exactly. People conveniently forget that when Tua was the backup, he threw up some eerily similar type passes and no one said anything then.

Simpson was fine. Showed he’s a good runner in his own right.

Highest upside of any quarterback on the roster in my opinion

Had a guy wide open on the TD play but threw to the guy in double coverage. Fortunate it wasn’t picked.

How many open guys has every qb ever missed? They all miss open guys. I think people dogging Simpson but yet saying Mack's throw wasn't into coverage are ignoring that fact.

Every qb looked good. They all have strengths. One of em is probably gonna transfer if I had to guess.

I am not sure what games you are watching?

Simpson made some good throws, but two of his throws were just chucking it outside of the frame work of the offense, which could have been easily intercepted.

Mack's throw was on time with good ball placement. These are not really comparable.

I'm not sure how much of Simpson's chucking was due to that being his nature or him knowing it's the last time he will likely see playing time this year.

None of them played enough to get into a rhythm to see who they really were at QB. It looked like Simpson knew he was only going to be in there for a few series so he slung it down field every chance he got. Lonergan played it safe and Mack had the one good pass. I don't think any assessment can be made about any to them.

I mean, I am sure he will explain what he saw in film review. However, hopefully this is not his thought process. It is clear he has inside track to the starting job next year.

Ty Simpson plays:

- Quick pass to Odom, looked good
- Quick pass to Odom, looked good
- Had to roll out to escape pressure, ran for 13 yards on 3rd and 11. Really athletic play from him
- Quick pass to Kobe Prentice, solid play
- Overthrew Prentice for a long TD. Just a bit long.
- Threw a pass to Hill in the flat that was dropped. Not a perfect throw, but should have been caught.
- Had to escape pressure and threw incomplete along the sideline. Showed good athleticism again.
- QB run to the left. Looked solid.
- Chucked it deep into double coverage. Almost caught, probably picked in most situations.
- Threw it 40 yards down the sideline to Hamilton, incomplete. Good pass though.
- Escaped a sack and threw up a prayer. Caught at the one.

Overall he played well except for 2 dumb decisions. He could certainly be the starter next year and be really effective. He is one of the more athletic QBs for Bama over the last 25 years honestly. I'd put him behind Milroe, Sims, and Hurts, but honestly his athleticism may be more useful for a QB than Hurts. He's not going to get you tough yardage on 3rd and 1 but he can move.
