Should Florida just start a RB at QB against LSU?

I originally wanted this to just be a troll until a coworker reminded me that Florida is on their 3rd string QB. Now I'm thinking it should be a serious question. If Lagway can't go for the LSU game and LSU getting absolutely killed by running QBs, I think it makes sense.
After all Napier has nothing to lose regardless. He might as well say frick it and go crazy.

Florida won two NCs starting a RB at QB.

A fullback is a running back position, dude.

They would be stupid not to honestly.

Maybe. Our 3rd string is essentially 0 threat passing anyway.
I bet Lagway plays but he will probably be at like 75% and not very mobile.
We have so many injuries I doubt an unhealthy Lagway will be anywhere near enough for us to win.

Damn Big 12 fans don't even know the positions.

Probably be a pretty smart move. LSU can’t seem to coach against it.

Baylor did this in a bowl game once, think it was a receiver though. Most coaches aren’t good enough/don’t have a flexible enough scheme + players to pull it off

If we know anything, Brian Kelly will 100% not prepare for it and will stand there and look dumbfounded on the sidelines as Florida runs up and down the field at will.
Do it Billy, throw caution to the win and just run every single down.

As an aside, this is also why every team should have a decent amount of option concepts in their running game. If you have unfortunate injury luck at QB it gives you a base to build off of to salvage the offense.

How could it be any worse than rolling out an injured QB? Hell, go full balls to wall and roll out the old Wishbone offense just to really make LSU scratch their heads in bewilderment.

I don't remember Chris Leak or Danny Wuerffel being particularly good runners?

Agreed, but it's just a function of time. Do you spend time practicing something you hope to never have to use or practicing what you hope you will be using to win.

Also I used to love the wishbone. Thomas Lott was my fav guy running it.
UF used to run the bone in the '70's before Charley Pell hired Mike Shanahan as OC, and we began featuring the pass, while still having 4 terrific running backs. James Jones, Lorenzo Hampton, John L Williams, and Neal Anderson. We totally could have run it.

Well the idea being your base offense includes option running concepts, that can be expanded on if necessary. Not installing it just in case. Not a lot of downsides, but like anything else you do need the expertise and time to do it well.
