Each side seems to be mustering the troops as we speak. On one side you have “we can’t afford his buyout, we are stuck with Kelly for a few years”. On the other you side you have the “I don’t care what we have to do, Kelly has to go now” forces.

Who will win? The odds have to be on the “we’re stuck with him” side. But their opponent seems much more motivated.

I’m not go a lie I’m so damn happy with the election that I don’t know how anyone can be upset regardless of who won the damn game. It’s like a 1 ton weight was lifted off my shoulders.

Do they have a wishlist to replace him? I think that would be important before deciding on which way to go. Curious who is the top choices.

I can't for the life of me understand what else they expected. It's not like they poached him from northwestern and he had a subpar roster all those years. Notre Dame always recruits well and they had the same results lsu is having. He's a good solid coach, he'll win 8-10 games a year. I don't think the dude turned 65 and suddenly is going to do anything different. I guess it's possible but not worth a program debilitating contract just to hope it happens.

Doesn’t matter what the common, everyday fan wants.

It’s the AD and big donor wants that will matter.

Hell no. And it doesn’t matter. Because anyone can compete for national championships at LSU. Except Brian Kelly. But anyone else can. The fan base of a program that has made the CFP playoffs only once in the last 10 years believes they are a a blue blood and any halfway decent coach can take them to the promised land. At least that is the mantra of the “fire him today” army. But they believe it and they are mad.

He is new AND the highest paid assistant coach in college football.

Just a few weeks ago LSU fans were pounding their chests about how improved their defense was this year.

LSU is like FSU.
They believe they have the history of Notre Dame and Alabamas trophy case.
They have neither.

Doesn’t Texas A&M hold the record for highest buyout ever? $77 million? That is Texas A&M’s only recent title isn’t it?

Yep.

Too poor. They spent whatever they had saved for his buyout on the Great Value Mike the Tiger on Saturday.

Children's Hospitals fricked.

LSU is poor. Moscona said as much last night - LSU doesn’t have the money to fire him.
