Yep, but if Boise wins out, and probably will should Clemson win the ACC, and probably will both BYU and Boise will be ranked higher.

Clemson needs a minor miracle to get in with how the ACC tiebreakers work.

Yep, but Miami is playing poorly. I’m not at all convinced they don’t have another L coming. At Syracuse is my bet.

If you are talking about how they will end or as of today because there is no way Bama is a 7 and Tennessee an 11 considering Bama has two losses including at Tennessee. That’s just dumb

Probably. I think Clemson wins out, Miami drops their final game to Syracuse putting Clemson against SMU in the title game.

It’s Clemson’s only path in.

I don’t like the 4 byes going to CC

14 teams with 2 byes

or

16 teams with 0 byes

either one would be better and create better matchups imo

SEC 4
B1G 4
ACC 2
Big 12 2
G5 1
WC 1-3

This makes more sense to me.

Looking at the SEC teams and their schedules barring a big upset prior to the game the Texas and A&M winner will make the playoff regardless if they lose the SECCG. TN also if they go 11-1.

Clemson isn’t sniffing that 5 seed, they’re getting an away game if they sneak in. It will be either the B10 or SEC CG loser.

I'd like to throw this thinking out there for discussion. Maybe cut out some of the CFP committee selection ambiguity.

Take the two P4 Conference Championship teams as automatic entry. This means 8 of the 12 become automatic. In general the losing P4 team would become the home team for first round as compensation for having to play an additional game while remaining 4 rest on December 7.
Seems like the P4 runner ups should be in for being the 2nd best each P4 conference has after playing a full season. A runner up IMO should not be penalized or removed from CFP consideration for losing to the Conference Champion. Just putting out there to maybe cut out some of the favoritism, or perceived preferences. 5 th conference winner will most likely come from Mountain West or American Athletic, a total of 26 teams.
Seems like one way to settle things and each conference should resolve their selection of top two in championship game.

Bye week winners
ACC Champ (17 teams)
B12 Champ (16 teams)
B10 Champ (18 teams)
SEC Champ (16 teams)

1st week home teams
ACC Runner up
B12 Runner up
B10 Runner up
SEC Runner up

1st week travel teams
Highest rated Conference champ
3 remaining at large teams

No way in hell 5 SEC teams make the CFP.

Blame it on the meds. I forgot Notre Dame, they’re pretty forgettable. I’m not sold on Ohio State, they have great talent, but if lose to Indiana, who is playing solid ball they could easily lose to Michigan as well.

Way too much football left.

All of these supposed conference winners could potentially not win their conference.

Bama, Georgia, Tennessee could lose a 3rd game still

Aggies, Ole Miss, Mizzou ( ) could get in.

LSU could still win the conference even ( ).

There's no dominant team in the SEC at all. Though there are a couple who have had very easy schedules so far.
