Listen, I am no Thorne apologist but he is really not the main problem. He is the result of poor coaching and leadership by our staff. They knew what he was - a very average QB - when they recruited him last year and when they kept him this year. Our staff has not made him into a better QB at all and they are placing a lot of pressure on him for being an average QB. It’s unfair to him as a young man that these grown men, who are supposed to be professionals, continue to put him in these positions. It’s easy for us as fans to point at the QB and blame him, and some of that is deserved, but this is a college kid who needs to be encouraged (not coddled) and not thrown under the bus in press conferences by our head coach.

Agree. And I also think the kid is giving it his absolute all; it's just not enough.

How can you fix someone who misses throws a 9th grader can make.. he missed Fromm over the middle by a mile, threw at Fairweather’s shoelaces, and badly underthrew Coleman when he had 2 steps on the DB

Hugh should have recruited a transfer QB last year. If we had Vandy's QB, we are at worse 6-3 and at best 8-1.......Complete miss on Hugh's part.
We were not going to get Cam Ward and there were not many other great options, but dang... You have to try.

Yup. I still can’t believe some clowns on here thought Freeze could magically fix a 5th year senior that had steadily gotten worse each year in college. And Freeze himself getting butthurt over missing Leonard and Ward and then refusing to sign anyone.

I thought he would get a little better with the better pass catching talent, but if he has I haven't seen it.

He had NFL talent at WR at MSU and went 5-7. He’s just not good and drags down whatever offense he’s on

If we were ever going to make a change this season, now is the time. Since our bowl possibilities are shot.
However, if it happens, I hope that we don't lay goose eggs on offense. Makes recruits and current players second guess things.
All of you Thorne haters better hope that Hank, Holden, and WW don't look horrible. Could result in a worse disaster if it causes an exodus or some flips. That's what we're dealing with. At least everyone knows what Thorne is an there are no surprises.
With that being said, I am not a proponent of having Thorne finish out the season or not. I think we just have to trust our staff with this one. They have a reading on everyone's loyalty better than we do.

Some have excepted it. Others are just praying that a miracle will happen and getting a few more four-star guys will somehow make Hugh freeze a much better game day coach. That is just not gonna happen. He may win a few more games with better talent, but in the end, he is never going to coach that talent to its potential. And if you can't see that by now, you are in for a lot of miserable years in the future.
