So far, have seen two separate videos of cops beating up UF fans & one beating up UGA fans

These cops acted like they were part of a UFC fight. The one of the cop tasing the UGA fan sitting down in his chair could've been handled a whole lot better (that cop needs to be fired)......the two other cops pummeling the two Florida fans in a similar UFC fashion, same thing. But, dont' know what started this particular fracas.
In both, it was alcohol-fueled, no doubt.
Fights are nothing new at the WLOCP.....before, the stadium was divided into fourths many years ago and the fights are what prompted the old Gator Bowl officials to split the stadium down the middle 50/50 like it is today.
Do fans at the OU-Texas game have this problem?

A lot of cops, especially the young ones, are dumb as frick and cant control their emotions.
They are all gonna end up being fired from JaxPD and they will end up as retreads terrorizing some small town teenagers.

I’ve sat in the OU section and while people definitely ran their mouth to me, I took it in stride knowing I was surrounded by Sooners.
It definitely gets heated, but I’m collected enough to avoid altercation that end in fisticuffs. I feel like most people are the same.
Obviously the younger and drunker you are, the more likely something goes overboard.

In the very least those cops needs to be fired. Not to make it political but that's the problem I had with the whole BLM movement. It's not going to get the bad cops like these out of the force. These will be the only cops left. The people who just like the idea of power are still going to become cops. It'll be the responsible people who want to help their community who will be scared away from becoming cops.
My other thought is that these incidents are going to give UGA admins more reasons to try to move the game out of Jax permanently. I could definitely see it either going home/home or, if it works out, keeping the Atlanta/Tampa rotation.
Of course if the game leaves Jax, that really does screw over the UGA fans in South Georgia. Athens isn't centrally located and is actually more convenient to a lot of North Carolina and South Carolina than it is to South Georgia. That's what I was told was the historical reason for the game being in Jax. To give the UGA fans in South Georgia one game a year where they didn't have to drive 3, 4, 5 hours up to Athens. If the game is moved from Jax that's a big f* you to UGA fans in South Georgia.

It appeared to me that the black cop beating on the older Florida fan was the same cop that tased the overweight, bearded Georgia fan.

Even in pro-cop FL those police officers are going to be sued into oblivion.
They probably need to be criminally prosecuted.

How many beatdowns did that black cop administer Saturday night? He had to go directly home & ice down his knuckles.

Similar to UTATX, I've never seen a fight in the stands. Or in the fairgrounds for that matter.
Many years ago, both sets of fans would go to 5th street and basically pick sides, drink beer and talk shite but I don't recall any real fights there, either.
But man, if we saw a cop going off on someone like that I don't think it would matter whose fan it was. The fact he had a gun in his holster would be the only reason he didn't leave the area on a stretcher. This idiot needs his arse kicked then sent to jail

Been to game twice. Know plenty of Texas fans that have gone numerous times. Rarely ever any trouble at the game or after. Two fan bases that aren’t prone to acting like uncivilized idiots.

I retired in 2015 after 24 years on the street, 3 in Baton Rouge and 21 in Dallas, TX. This assessment of younger officers is spot on. They are far more narcissistic and immature.

I’ve been to both FL/ga and RRS since the 80’s. I’ve seen mostly shite-talking, but when excess alcohol is involved punches get thrown. I was in the GATOR side this year with a lot of dawg fans mixed in ( I wonder why). I saw 2 fights in my section, one was both dawgs fans, the other was ga/fl . No police. Other people broke it up.
Also had a LSU fan talking shite to and laughing at everybody. It was actually pretty funny, but nobody would engage him.

Same. We got along great with the Gator fans around us, even the super drunk guy beside me who could barely stand. The few people who tried talking crap in hopes of starting a fight were ignored. They were typically young, drunk, and stupid. The older fans were fine.
It's never worth it to get drunk and angry at a football game. Good things never happen.

Black Taze-officer needs to lose every penny he's got and should never be allowed to serve again

To make myself more clear, I'm all for the police and support them 100%. By far most of the time, the fault lies with the perpertrator. Obey the laws and you won't have anything to worry about with law enforcement.
But, like us, police officers are human beings with frailties and sometimes their emotions get the best of them despite their professional training. However, these cops took it a bit too far, imo.
Again, we have to remember.....we haven't seen the entire scene of events as they occurred and all the facts have yet to be borne out.

You are correct about the reason.

They'd simply send in everyone and start wailing away at everyone and if they started getting the worst of it they'd start shooting folks.
Most likely though there'd be enough state loving bootlickers present who would side with the state. Most people would whip out their phones and start videotaping the melee.

In '76, we had tickets on the 50, right next to 36,000 OU fans. I knew we are going to fight right after the game. Game ended in a 6-6 tie. We shook hands, and moved on.
Back then, they closed off Commerce Street downtown on Friday and allowed open containers, as people walked the 10-12 block loop. Cops had zero tolerance for physical mischief. Two friends almost got arrested, one for tripping over a barricade and the other trying to keep him from falling down. They used to arrest ~ 150 people that night, usually for Drunk and Disorderly/fighting.
