Do You Believe in Karma?

Hugh sounds more and more bewildered in each and every press conference.
What he doesn’t realize (or maybe deep down he actually does) is that karma is knocking his door down.
I truly believe that Auburn is his dream job and that he is trying very hard to make things work.
But it’s like the harder he tries, the worse things get.
Look at Urban Meyer.
Look at Bobby Petrino.
Karma has been following these cats.
This has more to do with Hugh and less to do with Auburn.
We are not “stuck with him” no matter what some of you may believe.
And it’s nobody’s job in this life to change someone.
Life is one big learning lesson.
But with that said, I see him not getting away from what is not working. He wants to be proven so right that the harder he tries, the more it gets away from him.
It’s so obvious.
We all need to come together. And once he is out of here I’m hoping we can indeed do that.

Way, way, WAY too early to talk about moving on from Freeze.
I wasn’t thrilled when Freeze was hired, but I was willing to give him a chance. Moreover, during the coaching search, I felt strongly that the most important trait in a new coach by far would be the ability to recruit at an elite level. Right now, Freeze is checking that box big time, so I won’t be heard to complain. (Now, with our NIL capabilities, maybe any guy with a pulse could recruit top players to Auburn today, but that’s a matter for the next search.)
Anyway, like you, in my mind I had us ahead of where we are in terms of wins. (I actually felt coming into the season that 8-4 would be a disappointment.) But as long as he keeps the recruiting class together and brings in a good 1-year QB through the portal, I think we need to give him through the 2026 season to get it going. Best case, he has us in the playoffs by ‘26 (or sooner). Worst case, we start over with a new guy and all the NIL, facilities, and support necessary to make AU a contender.
In the meantime…we’ll, let’s go Yankees. :-)

No, this is not a karma situation. We were left in a deep hole due to the potato famine and it is going to take time to climb out of it. We have older players who are mostly mediocre by SEC standards and a lot of young guys who don't have much experience at the college level. Turning the ship around is a process. It totally sucks right now but this is where we are.

Certainly not an uncommon thing to happen over the last 10 years.

This is all probably mostly on me. I bought a new shooter sleeve for the season. I’ll take the blame on this one guys.

Innocent young children in Sandy Hook, Uvalde and many other schools across the US were shot down in their classes and their bodies destroyed to pieces while your God sat back and watched the spectacle… I guess they were all sinners.

I enlisted some witch doctors over the weekend in Nola to perform a ritual to destroy it after the game on Saturday.

Does Gus have negative Karma coming his way? Sure looks like he's experiencing it now. But he ran an extremely clean program here at AU and all of his previous stops.
