Portal QBs are the way to go now

All the star QBs recently are usually guys who transferred as opposed to originally recruited guys who were groomed in your system only for multiple years.
There are plenty of those too but the majority of break out QBs on strong teams are transfer QBs.
Hooker, Burrow, Bo Nix and Jayden Daniels immediately come to mind.
The kid at Vanderbilt as well. Kyle Murray who transferred from A&M and that running QB who Bama threw away Jalen Hurts to Oklahoma....
The Justin Fields kid at UGA who Kirby whiffed completely on in favor of Jake Fromm...then went on to play very well at Ohio State.
Even Russell Wilson way back was a transfer to NC State if you recall before the portal existed.
It makes sense.
Why gamble on a high school kid who you've never seen taken a D1 snap when you can get a polished battle tested guy who already has plenty of experience and you know exactly what you are getting.
I'm confident out QB Nico will grow and blossom into what we expect, but

Yes, go get a proven QB. Makes sense, if you can talk them into transferring.

You could also end up with the Jamie Newman’s of the world.

Jalen Hurts was a graduate transfer which is not the same as a portal transfer.
Saban had two QB's and did Jalen a favor when he suggested Hurts would benefit from playing a season under Lincoln Riley.

Are they?
I watched OSU’s transfer QB run the ball with 6 seconds left to end the game last night.
Ive seen 16 year old QBs playing Varsity football with better clock management acumen then some of these portal QBs

Now that's a name I haven't heard in years.

There are also many who have flamed out. It’s still a crap shoot at the QB position.

Does anyone remember this same poster telling us how great Nico would be for MONTHS?

I don’t think the Portal should be the primary option for any position. It’s expensive and risky. Quinn was a portal transfer, but he was an 18 year old kid who skipped his senior year of HS. Sark had to develop him. Since then we’ve built an assembly line of potential starters in the QB room.

5star qbs want to play immediately and that breaks havoc on team chemistry with the other qbs and players who have earned what they have and know the offense better.

I really believe Nico will put it together next week vs Bama so I'm not sure what you are chirping about.
I'm fully behind Nico and think we will play up to his hype soon.
But moving forward i want Heupel to bring in some portal QB if nothing else just to give him some healthy competition and a stud backup so we aren't so afraid of injuries.

You are an idiot. Fields achieved no more than Fromm in college. Kirby would have been an idiot to just replace the returning sophomore QB fresh off a CFP championship game for a project athlete QB fresh out of HS

if your spending 8 million might as well take the for sure thing , and not a high school kid

And the Payton Thornes who can't stop throwing interceptions.

I disagree. Sustained success comes from guys who work their way through a program. Those guys you mentioned were super seniors. Terrible way to build a program. Bo Nix, Gabriel, etc almost played a decade in CFB. DJU is another bad example.

Touched a nerve?
I don't gaf about UGA but if I'm assembling a college all star team, I'm putting Fields way ahead of Fromm.

I think you need a touch of both and go after and play the most talented guys period unless they have attitude problems of course and are a locker room cancer. Those types should be avoided at all costs no matter how talented.

You were trashing him last week, you seem bipolar.
