Deboer is not the steal I thought he was when hired
I am not saying Lane would have done better or Lanning.
But CNS tree would have kept the culture similar.
Some of young upcoming coaches in lower division maybe ,, but who knows Napier has failed miserably

Lanning didnt want the job and Deboer schooled him multiple times with a less talented team

UF should have beaten 10rc last night. Totally blew that game.
DeBoer has a winning record vs Lanning and others in Saban's coaching tree.
Kiffin still has Golding. Ole Myth blew their game last night too and also lost to UK at home.

The culture is Saban. Belichick has proven it doesn't matter how many people you hire from a guy's tree they can't develop anything even remotely similar. The only thing that ever translates is revolutionary offensive systems (west coast offense, run and shoot). Even then the success is based on the philosophy the new coach brings based on his own personality with the offense to the new org.

He needs time. He’s following the GOAT and he’s expected to not miss a beat. What Saban did will not be repeated anywhere.
And Lane is a great coach. But we’d want him run out of town after he blows a big game with dumb decisions and a week of goofy tweets.

Belichick made a defensive guy with no offensive experience his OC.

Uh yes this is true. Not sure what it has to do with other people hiring his coaches to replicate his culture and success. The guy he did that with, prior to Belichick doing that, was hired in Detroit and tried to replicate Belichick's culture to disasterous effect. They now have a guy with his own culture and philosophy and the Lions are Super Bowl contenders.

My complaint is that I don’t see progress. Can anyone point to a single position group that has improved this season? When he was hired it was assumed that his OC, Grubb, and OL coach would be with him. They are not, obviously and maybe that’s the biggest issue. Looking back I wonder if he should have brought the DC coordinator. Hopefully Wommack is just passing through.

I’m starting to ask “how did he beat those teams with superior talent” at Washington and Fresno. His culture is questionable and he has taken a top 3 team in terms of talent and destroyed it in less than a year.

The team has gotten worse in each of the last 3 games. Theres no progress being made.

Has Lane Kiffin ever won a truly big game? It sure doesn't feel like it. I'm not going to be pillorying the DeBoer staff for completely fumbling control of a ball game and making bad administrative decisions that consistently gave South Carolina life then say Lane Kiffin is the solution. Kiffin has been the poster child of doing as much to help his team win as lose from the sideline in big games.
Lanning? I'm not going to anoint him because he beat the Buckeye's rosy-cheeked manlet choke artist in a regular season home game. DeBoer owned his arse with less talent while at UDub.
Cristobal? Similar game management concerns. I think his undefeated team thus far is a paper tiger due for a reality check. Very soft schedule. Reality check may not come until the playoffs though.
Sarkisian is really the only guy I think would be compelling but similar to Smart, he's found a job that you only leave for the NFL or the house. Texas and UGA offer everything Alabama offers in terms of support. Arguably, Texas offers more now that oil moron wealth can just buy players.

One of his Co D coordinators is an analyst at Bama now (Chuck Morril) and the other Inge is linebacker coach at Tennessee. While Wommack may not be the answer, those guys definitely aren't either.

It’s like he knows how to prepare for big teams but doesn’t do much for weaker teams. So in the end he beats both teams by single digits

His team in Seattle was full of super senior transfers that were mature grown men. Also, I think the quality of coaching out West is much lower than in the South. The players were dialed in for Georgia but the week-to-week grind is about how well the coaches prep the players because emotion is not going to be as big of a difference. They're just getting out coached in all the little ways. DeBoer is probably not use to seeing a highly competent coaching staff that gets you off your strong suits and adjust well mid-game in every conference game. Also talent is just not that great in the conferences he’s coached in prior to Alabama. Remember, DJU was a top QB in the PAC-12 last season and he’s been terrible in the lowly ACC this year.
This is not conference pride it is just the truth of recruiting rankings and the financial realities of coaching compensation. The SEC has a lot of talent on the field and even the middling to failing staffs in the SEC were excellent at their stops prior to the SEC.

they need to be more physical in practice.

This isn’t College Football 25. This is real life there is only one Nick Saban, that’s why he is the GOAT. Give CKD time to implement his culture.
I can’t imagine taking over command from someone else and being expected to lead the exact same way as the person before me. That’s setting everyone up for failure.

Sark is 0-2 vs Deboer and also inherited a roster that consisted of players from three top 3 recruiting classes. Yet he went 5-7 in his first season at Texas with a laughably cupcake schedule.
I bet they wanted him fired in 2021 as well.

Sark took over from Tom Herman, not Nick Saban.

This is his culture! What we've seen this season sure is hell isn't the culture Saban left.
