Meaning, we obviously realize that college football is different, players are different as well, but is this the point where we look back and say THAT was the start of the decline?

Alabama NOT making an EXTENDED playoffs is a reality now. Let that sink in. Who would have thought?

Is this the decline?

No, it should be a wake up call that you can’t just show up and expect to win.

Obviously too early to say but this is the kind of loss that can easily alter the trajectory of a new coach.

Another loss and the playoffs don’t happen. Not by losing to Vandy.

You ok with that?

I think we all need to take a deep breath. It’s a terrible loss, but I’m not sure it’s program changing. We have to see how the team and staff respond over the next few games.

I don’t know about all that, but I won’t be headed to the rant the rest of the season. LOL

Hate to break it to you, but as long as Georgia plays well a 10-2 Bama will get in.”

I don’t like losing, probably hate it about as much as anyone you know. But age has brought perspective. I don’t put too much stock in a loss, especially with how the landscape looks right now.

This breakfast ball went into the lake. Still have 2 more in the pocket, just can’t lose the 3rd one.

This loss is so bizarre, so weird. I'm hesitant to try and attach any meaning to it right now.

Things could go in a different direction, but as of 5 games since Nick Saban retired we have already lost to Vanderbilt and I have a hard time seeing that as anything but program changing.

Recruiting, exposure, the way media talks about the program, how the opposing team views playing alabama.

All that took a program level hit in my opinion.

But the media team put out a video with Denzel devall saying we were going to play with relentless effort. Bama is toast for the season. We let fricking Vandy push our shite in. 13 threw a bitch fit on the field. 11 is so damn scared of contact it’s unreal. Our dl were getting shoved backwards all night. Rewatch the pick 6, milroe runs away from the defender and could have run at him. Womack can’t adjust to anything. This defense is cooked. Ryan Williams may be the best receiver I’ve ever seen. And this may be the shittiest defense I’ve ever seen. Deboer excusing 13 behavior is a joke.

I’m not watching another moment of college football again this season. Kalen Dubose embarrassed the program and university in a way seldom seen in these parts.

Yep. I’m out of town, picking up my truck from an oil change and the guy at the counter says: “I guess that’s the end of Alabama”

DeBoer is on a major hot seat. Byrne made the wrong hire. He doesn't fit our way of doing things.

Untrue. They can take a loss to a highly ranked Tennessee or LSU and still finish ranked highly enough to go. . Some of you are not going to understand how expansive this playoff is until you see it in action I guess. Notre Dame lost to Northern Illinois not even a month ago and they're already back up to 14

Yep. This is a different kind of loss than losing to a team from the top shelf of the SEC. This is the kind of loss that creates a narrative that you can’t get back.

Ehhhh, it depends. A loss to Vandy is bad, but a two-loss Bama team with wins over UGA (and a bunch of other top 25 teams based on a two-loss scenario) has a pretty good resume.

The lack of discipline vs. Saban's Bama is really mind blowing yall. The way our players act so entitled now is hard to fathom bc it's been so foreign to this program until now

All of the NIL money, ice chains and dumb podcasts have made players less likely to have discipline. More entitlement. College football is slowly dying right now and it breaks my heart.

There still plenty of great teams to play and beat. Bama beats SC, TN, LSU and Auburn and they’re going to make playoffs.
