We got beat by Bama worse than this when we won the natty a couple of years ago. So, all is NOT lost.

Beck is a great QB. You don't throw for 439 yds against Bama in their house and not be a great QB. But the ints killed us. Gotta live and learn and fix that.

D needs to stop being schizo and play lights out for 60 minutes.

But the real problem, from my non-expert opinion....we don't have a scary, 1-2 punch running game like we've had the last 3 years. Ettiene is good, but not quite the world-beater we hoped for. the Robinsons both fighting injuries have hurt us. And after a great showing against Clemson, Frazier has been abducted by aliens or something. Not sure what's happened with him. They got to get our running game cranked up if we're gonna push for a spot in the playoffs.

That's my take on it...FWIW. Go dawgs!

Not too concerned with run game. Gameplan goes out of the window when you are down 28-0 after 1Q

ETN looks great to me. Frazier def has more juice than Robinson but appears he is in the doghouse.

'doubt'

He's had 2 losses in 2 years, both against Bama. He was on top of everyone's Heisman list at the beginning of the season. And all the sudden, you're doubting him?

What I learned is that we need to let this team have explosive plays because when we do, we can score

He's a good game manager, but he's not a great quarterback.

Alabama was really the only elite team he's faced in two seasons, and he's 0-2 against them. Idk, just doesn't seem to be anything special.

Maybe he can make me eat crow against Texas, but I have my doubts.

The energy in that building last night, coupled with the obvious focus and hunger the Bama players had at kickoff was a disastrous combo.

When Bana came out the tunnel. I looked at my son and said if we can keep it close in this first half we will win.

We didn't.

I like Beck but calling him great cause of what he did last night is a stretch...

3tds vs 3 ints

1 crucial fumble

Gave up a 2 points on a safety

54% completion percentage and threw a ton of poor passes to wide open receivers

Definitely got no help as far as his receivers dropped as many passes as he missed tho

He got a A grade tho for not giving up and showing a ton of grit and composure on all the 4th down conversions...

JMO...

You can throw this out the window once they go up 28-0. The whole defensive and offensive mindset changes and it’s natural that the players start taking off since they think the game is in the bag. We’ve seen it 100 times when a team jumps out to a big lead.

ETA I’ll give him a pass on the safety if he was throwing to a receiver which wasn’t where he was supposed to be….either by holding or a busted route. That call was bullshite.

Too bad he couldn’t have done that in the first half, too.

Oh, and 4 turnovers and a safety.

Unfortunately on his list he already won the Heisman. He needs to concentrate on winning the game he's playing.

All of our goals are still attainable theoretically and realistically. But I think we really need to beat Texas

"turnovers"

Well, I did say that the turnovers needed to be fixed. But all I'm saying that when you can put up 439 yds, all basically in ONE half against Bama in THEIR house, then you have to be pretty good. Not to mention the fact that if Arian Smith had not have let a ball go right through his freakun hands on that long bomb at the beginning, he'd have gone over 500 yds....against Bama....#4 team in the nation....in their stadium, one of the toughest places to win in the known Universe. I realize I'm a half full kind of guy, but surely you see all this, right?

Well, Beck isn’t as good as we thought at reading defenses. He looked completely clueless when they switched from one coverage to another. A good QB would recognize that, esp a 5th yr sr.

Bama apparently does mixed coverages. Learned this on brooks Austin

If you split the field in half at the center, the left side defenders might be playing zone and then the right side is playing man.

Pre-snap, both sides present like it's man. So you may think you have a good man beater route to the left side, but then they drop in a zone and it fricks you up.

I didn't like his attitude and aura after the rough start. Hopefully battling through that in that atmosphere will be a good thing going forward.

"wasn't as good as we thought...."

No offense bro (or sis) but uh, I'm a clinicial chaplain in a hospice agency. I'm not a football coach, so why would what I think matter compared to what the coaches on the UGA football team (one of the most successful schools in the country) think? I seen what I thought was some good stuff and some bad stuff, but the coaches that they pay alot more than I get paid think he's the best QB on the team or he wouldn't be starting for the UGA. Do you think what these smart coaches decided by making him the starter was WRONG? My point being, nobody asks the coaches on a college football team if its better to give a dying patient Morphine or Fentanyl, do they? So, I'm not going to pass judgement on something I'm no expert on by any stretch of the imagination.

Again, no offense, but what do you do for a living? Just saying....

I stayed at a Days Inn. And I saw enough to recognize when they switched coverage he look lost, resulting in at least one int.. Joe many more?

What we learned last night is he can sling it when they take the reins off. The downside is when they come off, the ball is more at risk. One of the interceptions was not on him. I disagree with the safety call. We had a guy running a 9 route who was getting hands on him by the defender. Yes, he made some bad decisions and the fumble was bad. The Bama QB got some lucky bounces that could have been turnovers, but they weren’t. There is not a lot that separates us vs Bama. Getting in that hole was bad and there is no excusing it. With that said, the amount of clutch 4 th down conversions showed me something. The best is yet to come with this team.

Iron sharpens iron and the O was forced to grow up. I just want to see them finish them. The last int was a terrible play call so early in the series of downs. Try a safe throw to one of our tightends and let him blast in like the Bowers goal line play.

The glass is always full of water or air. Yes I recognize he threw a shite ton of yards in the second half and converted 5(?) fourth downs. But that’s not a recipe for winning games. Those are stats for someone padding his stats against lesser comp or who fell behind big and had to climb out of a giant hole he helped create.
