Anybody want to talk about the upcoming game and general thoughts?

First, is this really our last game in Jerryworld? Saw that somewhere but wasn’t for sure. Ready to see this back as a home and home and I hope we get Arky as a regular game each year, along with the horns and someone else.

On the game: I think we win, but in classic A&M-Ark fashion, it’s a close one. I watched some of their game vs OSU at the end and most of the game with Auburn. Ol Bobby isn’t just blowing teams out of the water over there with his offense, they went to their second string QB for a series or two during the Auburn game because the starter was struggling bad. Hoping our not great defense can contain them enough and limit blown coverages.

Offensively we still need to be sharper, but nothing about their defense scares me. Establish the run, let Reed get some scrambles in, and if he can make a few more throws than he did this past week, I think we shouldn’t have a problem putting up 24+ points which should keep us in the game.

A couple weeks ago I would’ve thought they were going to boat race us

Now I have no idea

Typical Jerry World game, close the whole way, who ever makes the last mistake loses. No idea who the team is right now, not real good, not real bad when compared to some of the bad teams this year in the league like Miss St and Auburn. I expect several more ugly wins but someone is going to catch us on one of their good days and we going to get whipped, hoping it's not the last week in November.

A couple weeks ago Arkansas was struggling to beat a really bad UAB team that Trent Dilfer is in the process of collapsing into itself like a dying star.

I think as long as we don't give the ball away multiple times it should be an ugly but decisive win.

They're very similar to us.

3-1 (1-0)

1. A close loss to a ranked team
2. Blowout of a scrub
3. Close game vs a decent non P4 team
4. Conference win over a not good SEC team

UAB isn't good anymore w/Bill Clark long gone. They were 4-8 last year and that's likely their best case scenario this year. Trent Dilfer is woefully in over his head. His only coaching experience before this was 4 years at a Tennessee prep school.

Nothing scares me quite like knowing that Bobby P will be calling the plays on the other side of the field in Jerry world

That was not good for us for many years

I have no doubt this will be a game with many turnovers and crazy plays as is the way of the Arky game every year.

They were killing OSU until they gave up on the run and started shooting themselves in the foot with TOs and bad penalties.

It’ll come down to who kills their own drives/sustains the other’s with dumb penalties. 17-24 type game.

It'll come down to whether or not Marcel Reed gets through his progressions before taking off and if he can complete a pass to Theo (best receiving hands in the bunch) more than one time. And if the O line, whoever they are now, can bust some holes. On the other side, defensive backs need to play up for the occasion.

It's worth noting that our SEC win was a blowout; I think Florida is about as good as Auburn.

Listening to the football talking heads, you'd think Arky is in rarefied air at the top of the SEC. Play hard Ags.

Ags could win by 10 or lose by 10. Neither would surprise me. Have no feel for this team whatsoever.

At some point Marcell is going to start enough games where I feel like we can’t replace him with Weigman. Like imo if Reed plays in the Mizzou game and is completely terrible I don’t see how you go back to Conner

If Reed isn't more consistent, I don't think he's a lock to start the rest of the season.

Yep, we desperately need a QB that can throw it accurately more than 15 yards in the air. Haven’t seen that from either Wig or Reed to be honest.

Defense settled in there after a rough start, but man we don’t set an edge well at all. Pass coverage is bad, better QBs are gonna pick us apart.

Special teams coach needs to go. Blocked punt last week, gave up a long fake this week, have noticed several times when the ball lands short we have multiple guys around it, oblivious, which is just waiting for a bad bounce and we will turn it over that way too. We are very undisciplined on special teams.

Not super impressed with Klein’s play calling right now. We pretty much run it every second down, without fail. We need more variety and stretch the field some other way than an occasional jet sweep.

Now that OL play has come back down to earth, it's hard to find any coach that's excelling
