what you like or dislike about the experience.
By the way, it is forecast to be extremely hot on Saturday for late September.
It is 100 degrees today. Supposed to be 100 again on Friday, and 98 on Saturday.
Hydrate well prior to the game.

If they win, they will love Norman. If they lose, they will be ticked off after the game and hate it. Haha.
Btw, what’s the run down of any changes that happened to the Sooner game day experience over the past few years.
You guys increasing your tailgates? Got any new areas or attractions to walk around prior to the game? What’s the set up like? Also, have there been changes to the stadium, like new renovations or LED lights, or alcohol/liquor? Last, are you guys going to keep the stadium with the same capacity or add luxury suite, etc? Or is that all TBD?

That is a lot of questions.
Yes, the tailgating area has been expanded. They actually allow some tailgating on the south oval now.
LED lights - yes.
Alcohol - yes.
Some dude that screams shite into a microphone to try to keep people fired up. Most people I know don't like it.
A 3rd quarter sing-along to Toby Keith's Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue. The jury is still out on this one.
Will probably downsize to add some suites or replace the press box and add suites. I don't really keep up with that part.

Thanks, I just looked it up. Looks like you guys had a meeting last week about the renovations.

The Univ. of Oklahoma Board of Regents "will consider updates" to the Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium master plan during its meeting in Tulsa tomorrow, according to Colton Sulley of the OKLAHOMAN. The proposed action item includes "approval to negotiate the terms of an agreement for architectural services with Populous” for the "further design and development of stadium projects consistent with the master plan updates.” Notably, it is conceptualized that development will include “playing field lighting improvements.” OU previously replaced its stadium lights with LED fixtures in 2022 and now puts on light shows at football games. The next phases of upgrades expected to come to the stadium includes "improvements and enhancements to the west lower bowl, the west upper deck, the press box and other upgrades”

Norman Oklahoma. Is it me but I remember a lot of concrete on campus and no trees per say

The music and sound system over the speakers is loud enough already. It’s so loud that I’m bringing earplugs to help bring the decibel level down. And the guy who talks during breaks is obnoxiously loud.

You know what I forgot you guys are going to hate about the SEC? There are some schools that pump in music as loud as they can, while the fans are being loud to disrupt the visiting team. We start getting into the debate whether artificial sound (another example is the Mississippi State cowbells) is fair to use like that. It’s legal for teams to do that tho.

Don't pretend to be places you've never been.

Went to the game in Norman, 2003. Was one of the best games I've ever been to though we were on the losing side. Great fans

I’m enjoying it here so far. I’d put it in my top 5 of college towns I’ve been to thus far.

Yep, I was at that game in Norman as well. It was a cool trip. Good fans. That was fRan’s last year and that Bama team had some horses on both sides of the line and some good backs. I think that was also Brodie’s first season as a starter. It was a close game if I remember but I know that they fire that damn cannon a lot.

they like the part about driving through Arkansas, and then when they cross into Oklahoma, it sucks
there might be some maple glaze donuts across the border (there are), and some good Red Dirt music on the radio
what else
