There is some kind of Kentucky voodoo when we play there. Nobody else has a problem beating the shite out of them in their home stadium except Georgia.

2024: UGA 13 UK 12
2022: UGA 16 UK 6
2020: UGA 14 UK 3

I don't know what it is. Kirby talks about it all the time, openly, and people think it's just coach speak, talking up your inferior opponent, but in Kentucky's case, it's real. For us, anyway.

Our defense does well, but somehow, neither Todd Monken nor Mike Bobo can figure out how to rip 40 points onto the scoreboard at that venue.

Does that pattern play out against any other team?

I really think it comes down to matchups. Kentucky is big and strong at the line of scrimmage, but not very fast and athletic. We have a terrible time blocking athletes like Dylan Stewart, but if you want to get in a phone booth and bully us, we’re ready for that. Deone Waler is a 350 monster and probably a top 5 NFL draft pick and he held up really well.

I don’t think we give Kentucky enough credit for actually being the rival they are, which is why they are one of Georgia’s three permanent opponents along with Florida and Auburn.

As I have said in other threads, give Kentucky credit for playing hard and having an above average defense. One thing Stoops does well overall is have a reasonably solid defense.

And as I said, the only road team in the last 5 years to hold them under 20 points, and we have done it all 3 times, and lost all 3.

We legitimately have a very good defense this season but, as always, our shite offense shoots us in the foot.

Stoops also does a really good job at reducing reps and lengthening TOP in those games by grinding it out.

It’s hard to play good football in Lexington Kentucky. Kentucky has played they since the beginning and even they struggle to play good football there.

This is true. UGA has had slow starts in many other games but when you have a lot of clock left, it’s easier to make up for it. KY controls the clock very well and limits the number of possessions UGA has, so every bad possession hurts.

Believe it or not we score more against Bama than Kentucky. In all but one game during entire Saban era, Mark Richt included, we've put up more than we did Saturday.

It's like the Kentucky game is Kirby's manball wet dream and he just edges the whole game

I don't understand how y'all have this problem year after year. You would think you could get lucky at least once in a while.

Hamdan is Stoops 6th offensive coordinator at Kentucky. I believe Gran stayed the longest of the bunch.

It's directly led to a lack of development at QB because we haven't been able to keep anyone long enough to recruit and develop one. And the guy we did keep long enough, was a RB developer.
