What Fanbase Crashed Back to Earth Hardest This Past Weekend?

ETA: SEC teams only.

There were several fanbases that felt really good heading into Saturday. One was booking rooms in Atlanta on Saturday. Arkansas and Bobby Petrino were back baby. Until they weren’t. Auburn and Hugh Freeze had everything sorted out and their freshmen were going to terrorize the SEC. Except their quarterback completes as many passes to defensive backs as receivers. Oklahoma fans felt confident until they had to eek out a win against Houston in just an overall ugly win. Alabama had the ugliest, closest 42-16 victory in history. And Mississippi State gave a team their first ever victory over a SEC school by giving up approximately 4,000 yards rushing.

Who had the roughest weekend?

It has to be Arkansas followed by Auburn right? But at least Arkansas showed improvement from last year. Maybe it was Auburn? Their quarterback somehow seems to have gotten worse. What fanbase came back down to earth the hardest?

Not really. We were 10 point dogs and showed that we should have pushed their shite in. Clean it up and we're gonna be a problem.

You didn’t read our board did you. There were no real high expectations.

One could very easily make the argument that LSU looked worse against Nicholls State than Alabama looked against South Florida.

I literally listed nothing but SEC teams. I listed them and then asked which of them crashed the hardest.

Found the person that didn't watch the game and just looked at the final score.

2. Oklahoma
3. Auburn
4. Kentucky (4th because they weren't super high to begin with)

Auburn and UK didn't really have playoff aspirations this year but those were disappointing losses. Oklahoma was pretty deep in the playoff conversation and could've easily lost to what I believe is a below average Houston team.

Arky fans should be optimistic. They beat the shite out of Okie State were it not for a bunch of dumb, fluky turnovers. Arky may boatrace Auburn this year.

You misunderstand the flagship if you thought they seriously believed the hype after week 1. They might've bought in after the first half last week, but it was never a crashing down of expectations like Notre Dame
