Have them to win by over 17 points

LSU hasn’t won an opener in 4 years.

Feels like USC might be ranked to help with the ratings. 8-5 team last year.
Real question for me is what is LSU defense going to look like. But they should still come out with a win.

Kelly needs to show that he can get a team ready for a season opener. If you're missing anything it's that our secondary is really bad. That's not a good thing when you're going up against a Lincoln Riley offense.

West Coast teams tend to be soft. I think LSU will be the more physical team and eventually grind USC down.
ETA ... I was wrong. LSU is soft.

LSU's D was atrocious last year. Big unknown

No doubt.
I haven’t wanted a game this bad in a long time.

So was USCs. These teams are pretty similar. Lost #1 & #2 picks at QB, cleaned house on defense and have upper classman QBs that have been waiting their turn.
LSU's OL should be elite. I do think we'll try to run a lot today.

Thanks ... still going to roll the dice on LSU

LSU interior d line on paper seems thin, secondary was really awful last year.
Hard to bet on a game that could legitimately be a shootout

But we do have the best defensive player overall in this matchup in harold perkins.
I'm hoping he can make some big plays to get the d to play with confidence.

Does Brian Kelly move him back to rushing the passer or will he be playing off the los?

Sounds like a mix still. If we don't need him to pass rush that would be huge. But if he isn't on the line and we aren't getting pressure nothing will have changed.

I don't think you're missing anything. LSU should bully USC running the ball and Nuss and the receivers can hit big plays as well. The question is can LSU slow down the USC passing game enough to pull away or if it will be a tit-for-tat affair.
